I love how volunteering is a priority at Baptist Health, because volunteering as a team can offer numerous benefits in addition to benefitting your community. Below are my top 3 reasons why you should volunteer with your team on a regular basis: 1. Sense of Purpose and Fulfillment: Volunteering together reveals that sense of purpose and fulfillment we all crave with the added satisfaction of contributing to something bigger than the daily grind. Creating moments that matter and leaving a positive impact have a ripple effect! 2. In Phoenix, dehydration isn't just a discomfort; it's a life-threatening issue, especially for our homeless population. Temperatures often soar above 100°F, and without adequate hydration, the risk of severe health complications skyrockets. It’s a silent crisis that doesn’t get the attention it deserves. We often take for granted the simple act of turning on a tap. For some, it’s a luxury they can’t afford. By raising awareness and taking action, we can help ensure that everyone has access to this basic necessity. The Sullivan employees have donated to bring this support to our community. What’s missing at Bridging? BLANKETS, especially the bed sized for twin, full, and queen beds. As client appointment levels rise, so does our need to adequately stock the shelves for shopping. We need 300 bed sized blankets available every week, for a total of 15,000 donated each year! When we say “blanket”, we mean comforters, bed spreads, and blankets. They cover a mattress completely, provide warmth, and support a good night’s sleep! Gently used and new donations are accepted. How can you help during the September Blanket Blitz? Continue to donate from your own home. Tell others in your network and neighborhood that we are in desperate need. Coordinate a blanket collection at work, school, or in your faith community. See Joel or Danyelle about hosting a blanket drive. Reminder: Yes, we accept throw sized blankets! But, we have a healthy supply of those and isn’t our greatest need.

As we welcome the first day of summer, we are reminded of the joy and warmth this season brings. However, for our unsheltered neighbors, the extreme heat can be dangerous and life-threatening. The blazing sun and soaring temperatures make everyday survival even more challenging for those without a safe place to stay. Here’s how YOU can make a difference: Donate Water and Sun Protection Supplies 💧🧴 Bottled water Sunscreen Hats and sunglasses Lightweight, breathable clothing Volunteer Your Time ⏰ Help distribute water and supplies. Over the weekend, I faced one of my toughest physical challenges yet: completing the Tough Mudder. 🏃♀️💪 It wasn’t just the mud, obstacles, or physical endurance that tested me – it was managing my body with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) every step of the way. For anyone unfamiliar, these conditions can make even daily tasks exhausting, let alone a demanding obstacle course. But here's what I learned: 🌟 It's okay to move at your own pace. We all have different starting points and limits, but that doesn’t mean we can’t push ourselves. 🌟 Support matters. I couldn’t have done this alone. I’m beyond grateful for the Networks Centre team and the people who cheered me on. Crossing the finish line wasn’t just about conquering the course, but proving to myself that my conditions don’t define what I’m capable of. I might face different obstacles than others, but we all have mountains to climb. To anyone else dealing with chronic illness or other challenges – you’re stronger than you think.
