We're delighted to be part of India Energy Week, joining forces with 35,000 attendees to discuss #collaboration across industries to drive India's #energytransition goals. Later today our CEO, Phil Caldwell, will join clean energy leaders to discuss collaboration and commercialisation, emphasising the crucial role of #hydrogen in industrial #decarbonisation. In line with that vision, Ceres can also update that its 1MW-scale #electrolyser for green hydrogen has successfully completed testing and is now en route to Shell's site in Bengaluru, India. Shell and Ceres will demonstrate the system to substantiate its performance, cost, and operational functionality. India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission targets the development of 5 MMTPA of green hydrogen by 2030, which would require the installation over 60GW of electrolyser capacity. Ceres, with its mature and highly differentiated technology and licensing business model, is well-placed to support this localisation mission. It gives us a great deal of pride to announce that we have signed a technology licensing agreement with Reliance Industries Limited (RIL). This agreement grants RIL an exclusive license for Nel’s alkaline electrolysers in India and allows them to manufacture these electrolysers globally for their own use. “The signing of this agreement is a great milestone in Nel’s history. Reliance is an impressive company with enormous ambitions as a global producer of renewable hydrogen, and I am proud that they have selected Nel as their technology partner. In addition to supporting Reliance in achieving their global aspirations, Nel will through this agreement get a revenue stream from a rapidly growing market Nel could not have accessed on its own,” says Håkon Volldal, President and CEO of Nel. RIL, a Fortune 500 company, is renowned for its large-scale projects and investments in sustainable technology, and are building a multi-GW fully integrated end-to-end new energy value chain, from photons to green molecules, paving the way for abundant and affordable access to sustainable energy for everyone. This partnership will leverage Nel’s proven technology platform and RIL’s execution prowess to drive forward the green hydrogen economy. We look forward to collaborating on future R&D, performance improvements, and cost optimizations to further enhance the competitiveness of alkaline technology.
