Respectful Maternity Care (RMC) training is now just a click away!! At DY Patil College of Nursing and KLE Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi, we conducted our first-ever immersive simulation-based online training session on RMC. This milestone aligns with our mission and vision of transforming birthing by making this impactful training accessible online to healthcare professionals from diverse geographical locations – because every mother everywhere deserves respectful, compassionate, and dignified maternity care. Through realistic scenarios, the participants explored the core components of RMC, gaining practical insights into delivering respectful, compassionate, and dignified care. The feedback was super encouraging! Participants found the simulations not only engaging but also directly applicable to real-world practice, leaving them motivated to implement RMC principles in their work. Aastrika Sphere’s in-person training programmes are now available online, offering the same high-quality, hands-on learning experience with the convenience of remote access. As both a mother to premature infants and a NICU nurse educator, I understand the importance of family-centered care in the NICU. The journey through the NICU can be overwhelming, but empowering parents to be an active part of their baby’s care makes a world of difference. When families feel supported, outcomes improve—not just for the baby, but for the parents as well. My goal is to equip nurses with the tools and training they need to foster this connection. Trauma-informed, developmental care is at the heart of what I teach because it recognizes the vital role that families play in a baby’s recovery. What are the best ways to support family-centered care in healthcare? #FamilyCare #NICUJourney #TraumaInformed

The FoI act is a powerful tool - but if its use triggers a public organisation to correct misleading info & reveal crucial context (ie that feedback figures published in an open letter on Baby Loss Awareness day were based on just 6% of investigation reports) - something is wrong. This is quite a shocking report about MNSI (Maternity and Neonatal Safety Investigations) showing: - reapeated, similar recommendations being made to individual maternity units time and time again - recommendations that appear to lack deeper systems thinking or analysis - selective use of data without publishing clearly relevent full context (eg that statements about possitive family feedback were based on just 6% of investigation reports). This programme of work should have been a turning point for ensuring a more rapid and effective system of learning in maternity services, so learning from a tragedy in one service, would rapidly be shared across the whole system. The programme should be driving national change based on analysis and recommendations to address the systemic issues affecting maternity safety across the whole system. Change is clearly needed. https://lnkd.in/e-uJG-p9
