It’s the 22nd day of September and after a longer walk yesterday I’ve hit my target of 30 miles! September isn’t over yet, so I’m planning on doing at least one walk on every day left in the month to continue to raise support for the Alzheimer’s Society. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. If you haven’t already donated and you would like to, you can do so via the following link: https://lnkd.in/eDhN3NDj All donations are going to the Alzheimer’s Society. They do massively important work supporting those living with dementia, and funding research to find a cure. For example, raising £115 could buy a years' worth of weekly check-ins for someone living with dementia, helping to rid a life of loneliness. Did you know that 1 in 3 people born in the UK today will be diagnosed with dementia in their lifetime, and 1.4 million people are expected to be living with dementia by 2040? The support provided by the Alzheimer’s Society is crucial to so many, and will continue to be until a cure is found. For more info on the work done by the Alzheimer’s Society and how they use any donations, please visit https://lnkd.in/edtTx5VB

Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping, and neither are we. This year, I’m participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, a cause close to my heart. The resilience and courage of those affected by this devastating disease inspire me every day to take action. By walking, I’m not just raising funds; I’m helping to support the critical work of the Alzheimer’s Association. They provide 24/7 care and support for families facing Alzheimer’s and other dementias, and they’re at the forefront of research to find a cure. But I can’t do this alone. I need your support to make a real impact. Here’s how you can help: Donate: Your contributions fund essential care, support, and research efforts. Register: Join me as a participant and start your own fundraising efforts. Share: Spread the word about this important cause and encourage others to get involved. Together, we can bring hope to millions and work towards a future free from Alzheimer’s. Please consider supporting my walk by making a donation or joining me in this cause. Your support means the world to those impacted by Alzheimer’s. Let’s make a difference together. #Alzheimers is an awful disease that I have personally witnessed. How do you react when your loved one doesn’t remember your name or calls you stupid? Select Medical and I have put together a team for this years #WalktoEndAlzheimers. I’m trying to raise money and awareness about #AlzheimersAndDementia for those invested in the fight or have also experienced it first hand. All of the money goes directly to the research of what causes it and how to delay or eradicate the disease all together. Any support helps - sharing this post, joining the team to collect your own donations, or donating any amount. Let me know if you have any questions or are interested in learning more! #WalkToEndAlzheimers #YouAreNotAlone

Donation Page: https://lnkd.in/er4azyxg I’ve signed up for Bike MS – a fundraising ride that changes the world for people affected by multiple sclerosis. I’m going the distance with my training and commitment, and I hope I can count on your support as I prepare for this incredible experience. This year I will be riding along with my 14-year old daughter, who is also a keen cyclist. We will be doing the 50-mile ride. I will also be riding with the Bank of America team. I’ve set an ambitious goal because I know that with support from people like you, I can get there. MS is a devastating, unpredictable disease. But money raised through Bike MS fuels cutting-edge MS research and critical services to ensure people affected by MS have the resources they need to live their best lives. About Multiple Sclerosis Multiple sclerosis is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system. Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis, and there is currently no cure for MS. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are leading to better understanding and moving us closer to a world free of MS. An estimated 1 million people live with MS in the United States. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, and it affects women three times more than men. Please help me reach my goal of $2500. Last year as a result of your kind and generous donations I reached my goal.

Proven strategic CFO with deep experience helping small to mid-market companies grow and optimize long-term value.
Friends and Colleagues , I hope that this finds you well and enjoying your summer! As I shared here in the last few weeks, I was diagnosed in early 2023 with early onset Alzheimer’s disease. I’m fighting like hell to stave off this disease! The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is on September 28. I am fundraising with the Alzheimer’s Association to find a cure. Fact: In the US there are approximately 7 million people living with Alzheimer’s and by 2030 it is projected to be 8.5 million. I need your help meeting my fundraising goal of $7500. Please consider a donation toward a cure. All donations will be helpful and greatly appreciated! Below is a link to my Alz walk team site to donate and/or join our team for the walk. Also below are some facts and reasons to donate. https://lnkd.in/ebuhDPva Do you know someone who is living or lived with Alzheimer’s. Perhaps a beloved family member-a parent or grandparent, or a friend, neighbor or colleague? There is no proven way to prevent Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s begins 20 or more years before memory lost. There is currently no cure. Ultimately, Alzheimer’s disease is fatal. Lifespan depends on age of diagnosis, other health conditions, lifestyle and treatments. People age 65 and older survive an average of four to eight years after a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s dementia, yet some live as long as 20 years.

*SHAMELESS FUNDRAISING POST* please spare a few minutes and perhaps make a small donation... In just 2 days’ time, Saturday 6th July, I will be throwing myself out of an aeroplane at 10,000 ft to raise money and awareness for Parkinson's UK Every pound helps bring real breakthroughs closer for people like myself with Parkinson's. Together we will find a cure and improve life for the Parkinson's community. About Parkinson’s: - Parkinson’s is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world, and currently there is no cure. - Anyone can get Parkinson’s, young or old. In the UK, around 153,000 people are already living with Parkinson’s. - Every hour, 2 more people are diagnosed. That’s the same as 18,000 people every year. 1 in 37 people alive today will be diagnosed with Parkinson’s in their lifetime. My JustGiving link is below: https://lnkd.in/euUHSWzZ
