Update on the flying side of my career—last weekend I passed my instrument checkride. The instrument rating allows pilots to fly into clouds, above 18,000ft, and on instrument flight plans solely by reference to flight instruments when the exterior conditions don’t allow for any visibility outside the cockpit. Instrument ratings are typically known as one of the hardest to get as they demand 40 hours of flight time solely referencing instruments and processing some of the most complex parts of flight plans. Now that the instrument rating is checked off, the next stop on the route is the commercial license.

Fellow GA Instrument instructors (CFII) I came across this letter at KAUG (Maine Instrument Flight) found this to be an interesting read. To take it further in context I find AIM 4–3–21 “Practice Instrument Approaches” something to study. The first paragraph; a. Various air traffic incidents have indicated the necessity for adoption of measures to achieve more organized and controlled operations where practice instrument approaches are conducted.….. When you are flying a practice instrument approach & circle to land, are you turning into the direction of standard traffic?

The Inspection Camera Simulator Game!🔋📷 Thank you to Mark Watson for making this fantastic Inspection Camera Simulator Game for our Subsea Expo stand! Have you heard of our Videoscope Inspection? Visually checking the integrity of flexible risers and turbines is vital to the continued safety and security of operations. Inspections by videoscope are the ideal tool to use, providing you with clear information without the risk to your engineers. The images and videos will capture real-time corrosion and defects, giving you a clear understanding of your equipment and the preventative measures you may need to take to prevent ruptures and maintain the functionality, safety, and service life of your pipelines, turbines and gearboxes. There are many advantages to using videoscopes in this way: 🚀Ideal for inspecting hard-to-access areas 🌍Easy to deploy, ensuring that the inspection can begin quickly ⚡️Offer a clear and risk-free way to understand integrity concerns in video and image format ⏰Can be used during annulus testing to save you valuable time 💻Provide safety inspections without turbine disassembly and teardown ⭐️Monitor changes over time #theimpulsegroup #letuscheckyourpipes #camerainspection #offshore #flexiblez #integritmanagement #equipment #videoscope #tiktok NOF Global Underwater Hub
