VR can be "gravity free & reality independent". It should not be limited by rules of matter as we know them. Imagine VR space unveiling around you. Its look, smell, physical, chemical and all other properties interactively morphing to your wishes and, soon, emotions & thoughts. Here you become the ultimate “Creator”.

Sometimes, new technology gets a bit hyped up - Understatement of the century. 🤣 That's why this graph exists. Every new tech goes through these natural phases. First, everyone goes nuts about it, then forgets about it while the engineers figure it out, and then it actually develops into something we all use. While we're seeing AI explode in popularity (right before it dives into the trough of disillusionment), I think VR is coming up, entering the later stages. Everyone went wild for Virtual Reality (including me) when it first came out, and now we're starting to see real-world applications being developed a decade or so down the line. Watch the space. 😉 #VirtualReality #Simfinity #VR #Technology #Future

Here's an interesting fact about Virtual Reality 🥽 : The concept of VR is surprisingly old! One of the earliest known descriptions of a VR experience comes from a short story written in 1935 by science fiction author Stanley Weinbaum. The story, titled "Pygmalion's Spectacles," describes a pair of goggles that transport the wearer into a completely simulated world. Even though the technology to create VR experiences like that didn't exist back then, it shows how long humans have been fascinated by the idea of stepping into another reality! #XANA #VR #VirtualReality #Metaverse

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 : 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗫𝗥 This is my first video on living in XR. It shows you how I watch videos and movies now, in AR and VR. It's been around 3 months of doing this and has pretty much become the new normal for me. The video is a bit long at around 5 minutes, but incase you are interested in what the end of this decade is going to be like do check it out. Cheers. #xr #metaquest #newnormal #spatialcomputing

Locomotion is still an unsolved problem in virtual reality. If you move physically, you will eventually hit an obstacle, and if you move artificially, you might run into the risk of getting sick. Disney came up with an innovative solution, HoloTile, an omnidirectional VR treadmill or a sliding floor that allows movement in all directions with multiple users at the same time, for VR and other use cases. This revolutionized the way we interact within the virtual worlds, imagine a number of people being in a room being able to be somewhere else collaboratively and moving around doing sightseeing. Imagine theatrical stages that might have these embedded in them so that dancers can do amazing moves. There are so many applications for this type of technology. And we don't know yet where it will be used.
