Indonesia is the world's largest halal food market and implementing mandatory halal certification for food producers, service industries in food (including logistics service providers, traders, and retailers), and import into Indonesia by this October 2024. Although ONLY for the MSMEs the deadline has moved to 2026, this is not the case for the bigger players and export to Indonesia! Below more information in the article from Halal Focus. Thank you Salama Evans for covering this important topic at #halalfocus. #halalindonesia #halal #indonesia #halalcertification #halalreputation #halalriskmanagement #MUI #BPJPH #retailindonesia #retail #halalretail
In a surprising move, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, announced the postponement of the #WHO2024 (Mandatory Halal October 2024) deadline for micro and small enterprises (MSMEs) in the food and beverage sector with low-risk products admissible for self-declare. This delay, extending the deadline to 2026, aims to provide businesses with more time to adhere to halal certification requirements, including those for raw materials, additives, and processing aids.
