Saudi Arabia’s contribution to the phenomenal growth of the global Esports sector is highlighted by a study showing that 23.5 million gaming enthusiasts - 67% of population - currently live in the Kingdom. The recent Esports World Cup in Riyadh featured the largest prize pool in history, $60 million, and the country is now home to almost 1,000 players pursuing Esports as full-time careers, says the report by the Saudi Esports Federation, in collaboration with PwC Middle East. According to the report, worldwide revenue generated from Esports is expected to reach US $1.86 billion by 2025, nearly doubling the US$996 million revenue generated in 2020. The number of gamers in the MENA region, estimated at almost 68 million in 2022, is projected to grow to around 87 million by 2026, with rampant mobile and digital penetration leading to the growth. #gaming #esports #SaudiArabia
