Saudi Arabia’s contribution to the phenomenal growth of the global Esports sector is highlighted by a study showing that 23.5 million gaming enthusiasts - 67% of population - currently live in the Kingdom. The recent Esports World Cup in Riyadh featured the largest prize pool in history, $60 million, and the country is now home to almost 1,000 players pursuing Esports as full-time careers, says the report by the Saudi Esports Federation, in collaboration with PwC Middle East. According to the report, worldwide revenue generated from Esports is expected to reach US $1.86 billion by 2025, nearly doubling the US$996 million revenue generated in 2020.
