Earlier this month, mini associates donned their temporary photo ID badges and took over our Global Home Office during Brings Your Kids to Work Day! While this day was designed with kids in mind, the experience was also meaningful for the parents. Associate Erika TeetsJohnson loved seeing the magic of campus through her son’s eyes. She said, “Things that we walk by everyday were a source of adventure." Read more in our latest blog post. 🔗

Does your company have a “bring your puppy to work-day”? 🐶 We do because... I believe in fostering closeness within my team and creating an environment where work feels like an extension of family, sometimes. The more I read about what makes workplaces truly great, the more I realize that striking a balance between work and family, plus cultivating deeper connections with colleagues, is key to success. Since our work tends to be quite individualistic, coming together and forming those tight-knit relationships has truly transformed our team dynamics for the better. Summer Fridays with the pups are about to kick off again, and I couldn't be more thrilled! 🐾 How about you? Do you enjoy blending work and family every now and then? Is team bonding important to you? And what other ideas should we explore beyond pups, kids, and offsite gatherings?

🌟 What's On My Desk? 🌟 As we continue to celebrate the unique work-spaces of our talented employees, let’s shine the spotlight on two exceptional individuals: Summer Park's desk is a reflection of her commitment to efficiency and minimalism, with every item chosen to serve a purpose. As the Director of Operations, her sleek (and swoon worthy) desk organizer and her mini timer, exudes functionality. Yet, amidst all the order, there’s a subtle touch of “cuteness” that adds a playful charm– a testament to how Summer approaches her responsibilities with a serious mindset yet never forgets to infuse joy into her daily routine. Yeeun Kim's desk tells a different story. Apart from equipment necessary for her role as the Senior Audio Engineer, her workspace is adorned by items gifted by friends and colleagues that speaks volumes about her personality and the strong bonds she shares with her peers. And let's not forget the stash of emergency snacks strategically tucked away, ensuring that Yeeun remains fueled and energized throughout her busy days of crafting audio magic. At "What's On My Desk?", we celebrate not just the physical items on our employees' work-spaces but also the stories and personalities behind them. Stay tuned for more of this exploration on our colleagues' workspace and uncovering the fascinating tales they have to tell. #WhatsOnMyDesk #WorkplaceWellness #OfficeInspiration #CompanyCulture #FUN #OrganizeYourOfficeDesk #BespokeLab #Subtitling #Dubbing #MediaProcessing

Strategic Shenanigans: A Week of Game Theory at Work Introduction "Strategic Shenanigans" is a series of fictional, humorous articles that delve into the daily antics of office life, highlighting how Game Theory principles subtly influence workplace interactions. Each story from the week showcases employees at TechCorp using clever strategies to outmaneuver colleagues and achieve their goals, be it snagging the last cup of coffee or securing a coveted parking spot. The aim is to entertain while shedding light on the strategic games people play in professional settings. Fun Friday: The Parking Lot Ploy Friday arrived, and so did the office memo: due to maintenance, only one parking spot was available. Two employees, Sam and Dana, both needed it. They agreed to a silent auction, bidding their willingness to arrive earlier. Sam confidently wrote down "7:00 AM," knowing Dana was not a morning person. Dana, however, wrote "6:59 AM." Sam groaned. "Seriously? One minute?" Dana winked. "Every minute counts." Come Friday morning, Sam decided to outsmart Dana by arriving at 6:58 AM. But Dana anticipated this and was already parked by 6:57 AM. Defeated, Sam parked two blocks away. As he walked in, he saw Dana getting out of her car with a sleeping bag and a toothbrush. "Did you sleep here?" he asked incredulously. She grinned. "All's fair in love and parking. Plus, I get the best spot and the best story." Conclusion: Sometimes, commitment to your strategy can give you the upper hand—even if it means camping out in your car. Epilogue And so, the week at TechCorp ended, filled with strategic maneuvers and lessons straight out of a game theory textbook. Who knew that office life could be so... theoretical? #gametheory #career #careeradvice #careercoach #careerchange #careertransition #letsconnect #personaldevelopment

That's a wrap for our first summer retreat. As a fully remote team we recognise the communication challenges it brings, and how working at a distance can introduce barriers to the bonding and natural team building that happens in the office environment, so we're going to be doing more in-person workshops and socials combined throughout the year. On thing that struck me is that most of our team have been with us for less than a year, and we've grown from a production team of 2 people to 7 in a relatively short space of time, so we're reliant on people rather than processes. I ran a workshop where everyone spoke about their previous work experiences, and how we can apply this to Temper's specific (and slightly different) approach. One thing that came out was that everyones approach was largely defined by their last agency experience, and there are lot of subtle but important differences that are needed for us to be successful at Temper (I'll talk about these in more detail in the future). This was my favourite session to run and observe, as I was able to watch a team of talented individuals with their expectations & behaviours defined in the past, begin the transformation into a talented group of people with greater understanding of what's required to become a successful team in the future, and a greater sense of empathy and understanding with each other. The other thing that surprised me as that I became the parent of the group. 'Can I collect you from the station?' 'I've turned the heating off are you warm enough.'. 'Please don't put pizza in the recycling!'.

Some (though not all!) of our advisors are starting Summer Fridays today--bring on the sunshine! The summer is a great time to implement a four-day workweek, creating opportunity to spend more time outdoors and with family and friends. Of course we couldn't do it without the help of our curated tech stack and well-documented processes--ensuring our clients still receive the same excellent service Memorial Day through Labor Day that they receive the rest of the year. We're proudly leaning into our foundational principle to "work to live, not live to work." What do you think: Does your workplace do Summer Fridays or a 4-day workweek? #bringjoy #accounting #smallbusiness #entrepreneurship
