If you are a Finance professional working in a toxic environment do this: 𝟏. 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐭 As per the story below, the 1-year analyst has done nothing wrong. Some work environments are just toxic. 𝟐. 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 Do your best at work, so you can't be blamed for not putting enough effort into your job. 𝟑. 𝐃𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐇𝐑 HR works for the company. They are not there to fix disputes among employees. Who do you think they are going to believe, you or your manager? 𝟒. 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐭, 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞. If you feel too overwhelmed, go to your GP and ask for sick leave. If you burn out, it will be much harder to work, let alone search for a new job. 𝟓. 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐣𝐨𝐛 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 If you are in a toxic environment, there is no way to make it better! It's time to leave, no matter how long (or little) you have worked there.
