Multiplexing Assay Readouts by Automated Fluorescence Microscopy Did you know that automated fluorescence microscopy can be used to multiplex several different assay readouts in a single experiment? That's why such assays are often called "high-content" assays, rather than "high-throughput" assays. But there is not really a tradeoff between high-content and high-throughput. A good drug-discovery assay can provide both. Consider the example shown in this post, in which viable cells and dead cells are stained in different fluorescent channels, and the size and shape of tumor spheroids are measured, all in response to different drug concentrations in 384-well format. For more insights into mastering cell-based imaging assays, check out our detailed white paper here:https://lnkd.in/gtNyBYY8 If you're interested in discussing a project involving cell-based imaging assays, Book a free discovery call with this link. https://lnkd.in/gRTuXWHD A Discovery Call is a perfect way for us to connect and have a great conversation to see which of our services are a good fit for you. Claims of high content imaging entire 96/384/1536-well plates in 10 minutes or less are historically associated with compromise on well coverage and/or image resolution. See for yourself in this image gallery that Araceli does not compromise on either of these important parameters when it comes to plate imaging times of 10 minutes or less on the Endeavor. #highcontentimaging #highcontentscreening #fluorescencefriday

🧑🔬Practical considerations for the optimization of cell-based imaging workflows and applications🔬 Fluorescence microscopy offers robust, multi-parametric and scalable analysis of cell level activity in heterogenous populations with spatial and temporal resolution, often critical for effective interrogation in cell biology. High-quality images begin with carefully prepared samples and a variety of factors in assay design. This presentation will provide an overview of practical considerations and democratized technologies across the fluorescence microscopy workflow, from preparation and quality control of cell-based samples, to labeling and detection. Assays and application data for cell structure and function with both traditional fluorescence microscopy and high content imaging will be presented in 2D and 3D models, and in context of various aspects of cell health applicable to basic research, oncology and toxicological profiling in drug discovery and development.
