Being that November is home to Veteran’s Day, and the month is widely regarded as a “Salute to Service” around the world - let’s talk. Come here… Veterans around this nation struggle mightily during and after their transition out of the military - a transition that most are woefully unprepared for (9 years ago, myself included). While efforts are being made to improve, and new organizations and start-ups are springing up around the country - an estimated 20 veterans end their life each and every day. It’s just not enough. And frankly, most charities and organizations, while they’re intentions are genuine, just don’t have the reach necessary to affect change. There’s one organization that is near and dear to my heart that does have that ability - American Military Family (AMF), led by Debbie McElhinney. This charity, leads the way with a “boots on the ground” mentality, dispensing a Quick Reaction Force (QRF) at a moment’s notice (anywhere in the country) to help a struggling/suicidal veteran actively in crisis. I know full well their capabilities - one of their saves was, well, me. AMF is an shining example of veterans helping veterans. The aforementioned QRF is a team made up of combat veterans, LEOs/first responders and civilians who care. But without funds, care only goes so far. So I’m asking each and every person that reads this post, reach out to your local organizations - businesses, grocery stores, retail chains, motorcycle clubs, townships, boroughs, city councils - and ask if they’d be willing to make a charitable donation to a worthy cause. And if they want to know what AMF does, send them my way. I can tell em all about it.

The National Auto Body Council (#NABC) recently revealed the establishment of the Changing and Saving Lives Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization to support community involvement and fundraising events. The foundation's primary focus is to assist families in need, military members, veterans, and first responders through various programs, including #NABC Recycled Rides, NABC First Responder Emergency Extrication (F.R.E.E.), and NABC Community Impact initiatives. In the year 2023 alone, the NABC, through these programs, distributed over 200 vehicles to families, veterans, and military members in need of reliable transportation. More than 1,500 first responders received life-saving education on vehicle rescue techniques. With the increasing demand for NABC programs, there is a growing need for resources to manage and expand these initiatives. The Changing and Saving Lives Foundation enables the NABC to actively pursue grants, gifts, and donations actively, providing the necessary means to enhance and broaden their programs. This strategic move will allow the organization to meet the rising demand and make a more substantial impact on communities where NABC members reside and work. #NABCFoundation #CommunityImpact #ChangingLives #AutobodyNews

I am humbled by the support of my efforts to participate and honor the brave men and women who served our great nation, first responders, and firefighters.
