There's a better way to talk about SI💜 In a time when therapists continue to feel underprepared and unsupported to address SI, we need modern education and resources, as well as an approach that doesn't include fear mongering, now more than ever. At 12 hours, this course is twice the length of most mandatory continuing education - we think that shows just how necessary a change really is... This comprehensive course presents information, practices, and resources compassionately, holding space for clinicians to work through their own fear and anxiety regarding this topic. Offered in both text and audio formats, with suggested breaks and check-ins throughout, we hope to be inclusive of all learning styles. Included is a 50-page workbook of self-reflection questions, journal prompts, client handouts and homework, infosheets, and notes pages to support your learning. ✔ CEU-Approved for LCSW, LPCC, LMFT https://lnkd.in/gieeSsFF [ If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, you can call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline for free and confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can also reach the Lifeline via live chat at 988lifeline.org. In life-threatening situations, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room. ]

If you're keen on gaining a deeper understanding of how individuals living with dementia perceive trauma compared to those without cognitive impairment, I highly recommend this course! #DementiaAwareness #TraumaInDementia #Traumacare #NHSeducation #ContinousLearning

Calling all therapists and counselors! Join us for our two-day, 16 APA CE Online Live Practitioner Training in Self-Meaning Based Therapy (SMB-T) on May 18 and 19, 2024. At the heart of SMB-T is the uncovering and discovery of our unconscious core negative Self-Meaning (SM) and its powerful and pervasive influence on our personal and interpersonal lives. Learning SMB-T will allow your patients to heal their unconscious core negative Self-Meaning (SM), which lies at the heart of much of their psychological suffering. Rather than helping patients manage the unconscious negative effects of the SM through best practice approaches, they will be able to permanently dismantle this self-created lie borne during childhood, thereby realizing a new found psychological freedom and the ability to reconnect with their inherent design. They will be able to experience their True Self. See attached document for more info! Register for training here: https://lnkd.in/ethhkXET See info poster here: https://lnkd.in/eya_rZ7n

COSRT training today "Working with the risk of Suicide in Psychosexual Therapy" looked at psychosexual therapy and who is at risk of suicide, how to identify the demographic and manage the risk. The training highlighted that clinicians need to ensure they have suitable training in the specialty in order that they can support those with suicidal ideation, recognise the triggers and behaviour patterns Therapists have a key role in supporting victims because suicide has devastating affect on the person and their loved ones. It is suggested 20 people suffer sustained bereavement for each suicide. Males are 3 times more likely to commit suicide which is the biggest killer of men under 50 more violently which impact on the family and they often are completely unknown to any health service. A self-access class is being created about this training and we will announce when this becomes available. More COSRT Training including our July conference, please visit: https://lnkd.in/efsYRgme

Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme (NDP3®) Modules 1-4 - 7th Oct 📆 The Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme (NDP3®) treatment approach has one of the strongest evidence bases for use with children with developmental verbal dyspraxia/childhood apraxia of speech. The NDP3® approach provides a multi-layered, multi-target treatment approach involving working on several layers at the same time. The approach works from the child’s strengths: what they can already do and builds skills in small achievable steps from this point. NDP3® training is modular and split into two courses. The first training (modules 1 & 2) examines the current evident-base and NDP3® assessment and intervention approach. Modules 3 & 4 provide you with the opportunity to practice, through a series of supported assessments, treatment planning and goal-setting exercises. There’s the opportunity to raise clinical queries and to problem-solve case management issues. NDP3® training is also available as a view anytime, online learning programme using pre-recorded sessions for those who find it difficult to attend in person. For those who are in the process of studying for their ASWB Clinical exams, here are a few tips that have helped me. -Set aside specific time to focus on studying. -Make sure to stagger days off to avoid burnout. -Diversify your study set to ensure that you are covering all areas of the exam (I used Agents of Change, LCSW Clinical Exam Test Prep Book, RayTube, and Doc Snipes). -Practice Questions are essential (I used Pocket Prep and Journey to Licensure).

Upcoming training You get a very different experience on a training course when the instructor has published and developed the framework themselves. Still a couple of weeks until my Improving Clinical Effectiveness course begins This course is for you if you want to understand and find way of improving as; 1) Therapists don't improve with time and experience 2) There is little difference between therapy models, learning a new one will not improve your outcomes 3) Therapists hugely differ in their effectiveness and outcomes 4) Level of qualification or training is not a predictor of effectiveness 5) While supervision is integral the evidence is scant on its direct impact on client outcomes 6) Traditional CPD tends not to improve effectiveness https://lnkd.in/eBJ9Rf8D

As seen in the video, one of the resources we offer is the Seeds of Hope learning series. Seeds of Hope guides you in navigating the dementia journey and allows you to hear directly from professionals working in the field. It provides support from diagnosis until the end of life through education and practical tools. When you begin to wonder about how to cope with situations such as: 1. What do I do when they don’t want to take a shower anymore? 2. How do I communicate with them effectively? 3. How am I going to afford this? 4. What is respite, and where can I find it? 5. What legal issues might arise that I should be prepared to address? etc The Seeds of Hope learning series holds your hand through the stages of dementia progression so you are prepared and in control. Registered Nurse III at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) • TEDTalk Speaker • AJN Blogger • Keynote Speaker • Writer
Healthcare professionals, do you remember what you were taught about how to deal with grief over your patients when you were in training? So much of healthcare culture has held up stoicism as strength, and pegged grief as something that just gets in the way of "real work." But what is healthcare, if not human work at the core? Tomorrow, I'll be presenting an online Grand Rounds for Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) on "Supporting Learners Experiencing Grief," together with the incredible Hadley Bloomhardt and Sarah Tremallo, LCSW from Boston Children's Hospital. We are proposing a different way of training and supporting our youngest clinicians in healthcare. We can be human. This can be a path towards higher quality healthcare, and more sustainable journeys as professional caregivers. We can care for ourselves and each other differently. I am full of hope.
