  • There's a better way to talk about SI💜 In a time when therapists continue to feel underprepared and unsupported to address SI, we need modern education and resources, as well as an approach that doesn't include fear mongering, now more than ever. At 12 hours, this course is twice the length of most mandatory continuing education - we think that shows just how necessary a change really is... This comprehensive course presents information, practices, and resources compassionately, holding space for clinicians to work through their own fear and anxiety regarding this topic. Offered in both text and audio formats, with suggested breaks and check-ins throughout, we hope to be inclusive of all learning styles. Included is a 50-page workbook of self-reflection questions, journal prompts, client handouts and homework, infosheets, and notes pages to support your learning. ✔ CEU-Approved for LCSW, LPCC, LMFT https://lnkd.in/gieeSsFF [ If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, you can call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline for free and confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can also reach the Lifeline via live chat at 988lifeline.org. In life-threatening situations, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room. ]

  • The language used around suicide is often insensitive to the bereaved and those who have attempted suicide. It often implies values and judgements, which can be detrimental to suicide prevention. For example, the common phrase "committed suicide" implies culpability from the person who has lost their life. The word committed is imbued with criminality and immorality. 📅Available 7/15/24 -- Gain the knowledge, skills, and resources to approach suicidality with empathy and understanding. • In this training, we attempt to center both the client and the professional and honor the difficulty, anxiety, and pain associated with suicidality. Our intention in designing this course was to shift from the standard lecture-based education, (that often treats learners as passive recipients of knowledge), to a more engaged and active learning experience.
