This summer, Dr. Gordon Brown, the founder of A Place to Stand, is riding his bike across the country from Washington, D.C. to San Francisco, raising money and bringing awareness to the issue of homelessness. As part of his ride, which is called Breaking the Cycle of Poverty, Dr. Brown selects and supports one organization working to support and empower individuals experiencing homelessness in each state that he rides through. For Ohio, he selected ACCESS! Yesterday, Dr. Brown met with our executive director Jackie Hemsworth and our director of development Brianne Neal, and presented ACCESS with a $1,000 donation that he raised as part of his ride. Human Trafficking is a complex global issue with an organized network that is based on the exploitation of vulnerable communities. While it is challenging to break it, it is more effective to prevent it. How do we do that? By providing support to underserved communities, removing barriers to work and access, and enabling access to opportunities for financial independence and skill development. According to the 'Trafficking in Person Report : A global assessment', education and awareness intervention can prevent human trafficking. Let's make #Futurewithouttrafficking a reality! #nominetwork #donate #humantrafficking

One night isn't a lot, but it can make a whole lot of difference. Every night, thousands of Australians experience homelessness. But it doesn't have to be that way. Our Managing Director Phil Allison is helping to raise money for the St Vincent de Paul Society to support Australians in need. For one night, he'll be sleeping outside as part of an eye-opening experience to raise awareness and bring home the realities of homelessness. To help break the devastating cycle of homelessness, your donation can really help. Will you help Phil reach his target? Donating can make a huge difference to people who need it most. We are proud to announce that our CEO, Christofer Catania, is again supporting the Vinnies CEO Sleepout. Taking place on the 20th of June this initiative raises awareness and funds for individuals experiencing homelessness. This year marks Chris’ fifth participation, highlighting his ongoing commitment to positively impacting our community. The Vinnies CEO Sleepout is more than just a fundraising event; it’s a powerful experience that allows business leaders to understand the hardships faced by those without a place to call home. #donoradvisedfunds funds (#DAFs) and the East Bay Community Foundation mission-based funds are a great way to give to your local community. Consider making an online cash gift if you want it to count towards possible 2023 tax deduction. Otherwise, consider your philanthropy budget for 2024 and start preparing in January - that way you can fund your favorite cause areas in a steady manner throughout 2024 without having to wait until year-end. A #philanthropy budget is a great way to stay on target with your mission-based interests & cause areas versus responding to “asks” throughout the year and realizing you might have budget shortfall for areas you personally care about. #donoradvisedfunds #donors #taxdeductions #missiondriven
There's just a few days left in 2023 to make your tax-deductible donations to help create a sense of home and belonging for all East Bay residents. More than just four walls, home also means having family-sustaining jobs, healthy neighborhoods, nourishing arts and culture, equitable public services, and responsive local government. Join us and donate to create an East Bay where everyone can dream, heal, and belong. https://lnkd.in/eikf3z_w

Latest update on Compassion Coffee!
Update on Compassion Coffee! Back in 2018, God gave us a vision to start a church with a heart to show compassion to those in need. Compassion Church was born as a result, along with the vision for Compassion Coffee. We started Compassion Coffee because of our deep desire to love our community well. While we currently operate a coffee cart, the dream is to open a brick and mortar coffeehouse! A coffeehouse not only gives us the opportunity to bring joy to Anoka every day through kindness and coffee, but also provides an opportunity to make a practical difference in the community by employing people affected by homelessness. While Compassion Coffee has always been wholly owned by Compassion Church, we’re excited to share that Compassion Coffee is now nonprofit! The main reason for this is that it allows us to share Compassion’s story more clearly and creates more opportunities for people to financially support. Our focus this year is to establish a training program and get the coffeehouse open! As we put time and energy into that, we also need your financial support. We’d love for you to consider a one-time or recurring donation, which is now tax-deductible. Donate here - https://lnkd.in/gmHCq8-v Thank you so much for your ongoing support! We’re confident there are some great things in store for 2024!!
