It was wonderful to be back at Second Avenue Commons this morning to celebrate the reopening of the facility. Thank you to all of the partners at Second Avenue Commons,Mercy,City of Pittsburgh and of course our Allegheny County Department of Human Services who have worked so hard to rebuild and reopen this critical facility following the devastating fire in June. I look forward to welcoming guests and residents back to Second Avenue Commons next week! Allegheny County

Labor News, Advocacy, and Engagement...I was child abducted to here from Eastern Europe :(...

I was informed that just from the Yugoslavian war time when America was bombing Yugoslavia, potentially up to 40,000 or maybe even more were brought to the Pittsburgh PA USA area for forced labor exploitation in captivity and for slavery. Prevented from learning English hidden in slavery, living here now held captive... I have uncovered a small portion of these activities where there are up to 100,000 plus people brought here from Eastern Europe live silently in the background, being held captive and exploited with cheap forced labor, since the Soviet Union collapse and the Yugoslavian wars... I was child abducted from a children's war camps during the Yugoslavian war to here for these types of slavery in captivity, so I know first hand... http://iJakab.News Pittsburgh PA USA is #9 in child trafficking, forced labor, having abducted children, and abducted people from Europe and Eastern Europe. Everywhere you go in Pittsburgh PA USA there is always a badly hurt Eastern European on display...

So proud and happy for my colleagues - thank you for all you do. It’s not easy, but thank you for the compassion and kindness you show to our unstably housed neighbors Our community is richer for all you do.
