A recent study emphasizes the essential role that targeted advertising plays in promoting positive health outcomes and the immense value of digital ads. The study assesses the HHS’ “We Can Do This” multimedia COVID-19 vaccination campaign, which yielded $731.9 billion in societal benefits from averted illness and medical expenses – a $90 return for every $1 spent. Utilizing a digital campaign with integrated, multichannel, research-based strategies, HHS delivered more than 7,000 ads in 14 languages, “with many culturally tailored and geographically targeted to specific minority, racial, and ethnic audiences." Made possible by targeted advertising to specific communities, the “We Can Do This” campaign encouraged 22.3 million people to obtain their COVID-19 vaccine and protect public health. It’s imperative that we continue to support data-driven health advertising so that campaigns like “We Can Do This” are able to benefit Americans, particularly at-risk communities. Once again, it's not that this data *can't* be used for good; it's that the industry has shown no meaningful effort to ensure that sensitive data isn't used to cause harm. Self-regulation has largely served as a thinly-veiled attempt to normalize loopholes, with limited enforcement or accountability. 🗣️ PSA: Make marketing easy for your partners❗❗ They have too much going on... The average North American partner has 8 employees and manages about 30 vendors. They don't have the time to log into your portal and use campaigns-in-a-box. You may be using a Through-Channel-Marketing-Automation (TCMA) tool but the problem is: Most TCMA tools don't provide real automation... Your partners still need to log in and schedule the campaigns manually. Most partners will NOT do that. If you want to get your partners to market, take inspiration from how governments got people to take their COVID-19 shots. They used a principle called the "default opt-in" Instead of asking people to schedule a date for their vaccination, the governments set the date on their behalf. People still had the option to cancel or reschedule their dates but most people did not. This also significantly increased the people who got vaccinated. When presented with a choice, people are more likely to stick with whatever default choice is given to them That's exactly what Channext's "always-on" campaigns are about. Your campaign is scheduled for your partners. Partners can edit or reject campaigns, but if they don't do anything, the campaigns are automatically posted. If 90% of your partners in your TCMA tool are not marketing you, we need to have a conversation. #channelmarketing #tcma
