🔝 𝐻𝑜𝓌 𝐼 𝐵𝑒𝒸𝒶𝓂𝑒 𝒶 𝑀𝒶𝓃𝒶𝑔𝑒𝓇 𝒶𝓉 𝟤𝟤 𝓎𝓇𝓈: 𝒞𝒽𝒶𝓁𝓁𝑒𝓃𝑔𝑒𝓈 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒜𝒸𝒽𝒾𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓂𝑒𝓃𝓉𝓈 𝒾𝓃 𝑀𝓎 𝒞𝒶𝓇𝑒𝑒𝓇 𝒫𝒶𝓉𝒽 At just 22 years old, I had the honor and responsibility of becoming a manager at JYSK, an opportunity that radically changed my perspective on work and leadership. I remember starting this journey full of enthusiasm and determination, but also with many unknowns ahead. The road was not easy, but each challenge shaped me and prepared me for the role I occupy today and being in the Talent Academy program was the best choice for my development. 🔛 𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝐹𝒾𝓇𝓈𝓉 𝒮𝓉𝑒𝓅𝓈 𝒾𝓃 𝑀𝓎 𝒞𝒶𝓇𝑒𝑒𝓇 I started at JYSK as a sales assistant, not knowing exactly what lay ahead. I always wanted to learn as much as possible, so I was always curious and proactive. I quickly learned about the products, interacted with customers, and tried to contribute every day. However, the real challenge came when I was promoted to the role of manager. ✔️ 𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝒞𝒽𝒶𝓁𝓁𝑒𝓃𝑔𝑒𝓈 𝑜𝒻 𝐵𝑒𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒶 𝒢𝑒𝓃 𝒵 𝑀𝒶𝓃𝒶𝑔𝑒𝓇 Being a manager at 22 years old in a diverse team is not easy at all. One of the biggest challenges was earning the respect of my colleagues, many of whom were more experienced and older than me. I learned that respect is earned through hard work, empathy, and integrity. Another obstacle was quickly adapting to the new responsibilities. From managing the team to making strategic decisions, each day came with valuable lessons. I've learned so much in just 3 weeks in a new role! I've learned that I have a love for more than just food retail, and although this role is completely new and can be challenging - I've broken a few things down. 1) Guests are guests regardless if you oversee Food & Bev, GM, Style or the entire sales floor. If you put guests as the guiding light you'll always be right. 2) Put your team members first. In my opinion, as a lead you are there to support your direct reports, and for myself that is team members. If I show up every day to make their respective jobs easier, I've done something right for the day. We think this can be a hard task, and ultimately it is not - a simple hello, how was the weekend, offer to help with freight or workload. The small everyday things will ad up to a big difference. 3) Fill the floor! Tell a story. When aisles and displays are full, guests are excited to shop, and that excitement breeds life into stores and makes the shopping experience enjoyable! Lastly - less share some news on GREEN metrics! We've dropped the INF% for GM 2% or better across the board. A few outliers that we're getting worked out, but soon I'm looking to post sub 1% in all areas. The GM team's hard work has led to drastic improvement in sales, going from a negative comp to a 3% comp over the last three weeks. The store is also on a giant upswing with a 5% store comp over 3 weeks, more to come! #worksomewhereyoulove #target #growtime #growth

Biggest professional achievement? Making the tastiest Oreo milkshakes🧋 When I arrived in Dublin, every opportunity was in front of me, but so were the reminders of the barriers I grew up with. Looking for jobs here made me realize how many steps behind my starting line had been, and the climb was terrifying. I didn't know where to start or how to familiarize myself with the corporate world. 🖥️ Resources were scarce, and I spent most of my time making milkshakes and cleaning up after. As proud as I am of every job I've ever had, I wanted to grow in the corporate world. But my experience selling bus tickets and handling teenage customers complaining about their hamburgers didn't seem to matter in getting that first opportunity. I didn't know where to start or where to find the people who made it. ⁉️ So when I landed at Workhuman, found my place, and started my corporate life, I knew one thing: I wanted to be the help I had craved in the past. Thankfully, this company is full of people willing to listen to ideas and put all their hard work into making the world kinder.
