The first in a 3-part summary of how policy in reshaping land transport with a focus this time on Europe. Gideon does a nice job of making the complex digestible. We never stop learning & the business never stands still (no pun intended)
Successfully lowering GHG emissions in road transportation requires several key elements: technology, infrastructure, affordability, and market demand. Policy may positively impact one or more of these components. So how are regulations changing in your part of the world? Join us for the first in our new video series with Gideon Simmelink, Regulatory Advisor - Europe Fuels at ExxonMobil, explains the evolving policy landscape within Europe. This video is based on information available on 11th of December 2023. #ExxonMobil #Exxon #Mobil #Esso #Regulations #Europe

Timely report from DNV on CETO (CO2 Efficient Transport via Ocean) and the feasibility of low-pressure #CO2 ship transport. Low-pressure (approx. 7 bara at –49°C) solutions for CO2 ships facilitate a larger ship tank and therefore increased cargo capacities and ultimately lower transport costs. Carbon transport is a vital part of the the carbon capture and storage (#CCS) value chain, and includes pipelines and #shipping to get the captured carbon to the storage sites. The report was prepared in collaboration with TotalEnergies, Shell, Equinor (the three partners in Northern Lights JV), Gassco AS and Gassnova SF. I was pleased to be at today’s Antwerp Declaration for a European Industrial Deal. It is a positive step forward in achieving an European Industrial Deal. @Shell welcomes the increasing focus on improving Europe’s competitiveness in the energy transition. Shell is investing in the lower carbon technologies needed to help Shell and its customers decarbonisation, for example, Porthos CCS and Holland Hydrogen I projects, which are under construction. However, for industry to be successful drivers for supply AND demand are needed. Policy support to stimulate demand for low-carbon products is key to scaling up, delivering profitable decarbonisation and creating a level-playing field through which we can be resilient and competitive. #industrialdeal #CCS #decarbonisation #poweringprogress #hydrogen #antwerpdeclaration

Energy Transition Technology Licensing Leader| Empowering Businesses through Technology Commercialization | Driving Growth Through Innovation | Partnership Development and IP Management
The energy transition presents both challenges and opportunities for industries. Determining the right decarbonization pathways isn’t straightforward. Policies remain unclear, legislation is dynamic, and the cost of decarbonization options can be daunting. There is also uncertainty about end-customer willingness to pay for low-carbon products adding complexity. See this short video below on how we are approaching these dilemmas at Shell Catalysts & Technologies.

Reality striking: The CEO of Shell shares insights on the future of oil and gas, emphasizing their vital role for the long term. Making recent cuts in the offshore wind division, the company has "got to enhance our shareholder distribution". Translation: "we need to focus on making money." Major players like Shell and BP are shifting focus back to hydrocarbons, marking a notable transition from the renewable energy sector. #oil #gas #Shell #bp #renewableenergy #energytransition
