We look at a very focused and simple strategy really, which is to invest in leading generation businesses across the region and leading networks businesses across the region. At a big picture, if you think of private infrastructure spend in our markets, half of it is energy. And then if you zoom into Latin America, it's a region that punches above its weight relative to its GDP. There's been a lot of private participation in the 80s and 90s in the space. So most of the assets are already owned by private players and there's a lot of transaction activity around that. So if you look at the number. Of private transactions and the volume, it's higher than Asias in Latin America today. We've been investing in renewables since kind of before they were cool 15 years ago. We literally owned the first wind plant in Latin America. But as time passed, the cost of these technologies went down and the other markets developed. They began to be cost competitive everywhere else. So we built platforms in Mexico, in Chile, in Brazil. It's definitely a meaningful contribution to the development of the region and to the acceleration. The energy transition in the region. In our prior fund, we basically bought a team and a set of seed assets from scratch out of a bankruptcy of a global player. He had about 400 megawatts, which is not that much. And with 10X the size of the business over our whole period, over five years, we built 14 projects across four countries. This project is a 400 MW project, one of the largest within the Atlas Three GW pipeline. So call it 12% of Atlas U.S. dollar contracted with one of the highest PA prices across the entire portfolio. So while it's 12% of the capacity, it's probably driving more like 20 plus percent of the value at the highest return possible. The reason? Why it's the highest return possible? Is because it's hard to do. If anybody could do it, they would go and do it. So by adding this sustainability layer, you're able to access an opportunity that others can't and it adds value to the portfolio in that way.

I enjoyed speaking to investors at two recent conferences in New York City - AllianceBernstein’s Bernstein Strategic Decisions Conference and J.P. Morgan’s Energy, Power, and Renewables Conference. Both discussions highlighted three major trends driving the #EnergyTransition: 1) increasing demand on power generation from the #electrification of industry, 2) increasing demand on the grid in support of both energy security and reliability, while 3) simultaneously needing to #decarbonize the electric power system in totality at pace. We also spoke about how we are running GE Vernova with #sustainability at our core and with a lean operating system, enabling us to simultaneously deliver for our customers in the near-term while investing in long-term breakthrough energy transition technologies. Funding for wave energy technologies in the U.S. continues to grow! The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced an intent to issue $112.5 million in funding to support the development of wave energy converter (WEC) technology. The funding will support open water testing and validation of WEC’s. Increased funding for wave energy technologies, such as the recent investment from the U.S. DOE, aligns with the global push to develop a portfolio of sustainable energy solutions in the transition towards net zero. Following our exciting news earlier this month, Eamon F. energy reporter at Bloomberg published an article titled 'Centrica Invests in Liquid Air System to Store Power for Weeks' shining a spotlight on the importance of Long-duration energy storage to decarbonise the grid. Centrica's investment into our #LiquidAirEnergyStorage (LAES) technology will be critical in the UK's transition to #NetZero. “Energy storage has become key to decarbonizing electricity grids, backing up the variable output of wind and solar power plants. Highview’s plant, which could be operational as soon as early 2026, will be the UK’s first commercial-scale storage facility using liquid air.
