Levanta Renewables, a leading Southeast Asia-focused renewable energy developer backed by Actis, has announced it is acquiring a 9.5MWp solar portfolio for its commercial and industrial business.   The portfolio consists of six solar projects across Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand, with long-term PPAs signed with leading global 500 multinational corporations. These new projects will generate over 13GWh of clean power annually.   Rahul Agrawal, Head of Energy for Southeast Asia at Actis, commented: "We are excited to see Levanta’s growing assets in Southeast Asia across both utility scale projects and C&I projects. At Actis, we understand the fundamental role renewable energy plays as corporates look to meet their net zero targets and also in the process procure more affordable and cleaner energy. We are excited to continue to support this green energy transformation through Levanta as our renewable energy arm."   The completion of the transaction is subject to and conditional upon certain customary conditions.   This transaction follows Levanta’s recent announcement to acquire a 27.8MWp rooftop solar system in Vietnam and the acquisition of a 139MWp utility scale solar portfolio in Thailand.   #SustainableInfrastructure #SustainableInvesting #RenewableEnergy

Thomas Liu, Partner, Head of Greater China and Asia Data Centre, Real Estate at Actis, contributed to DC Byte's recent report looking at Taiwan as an emerging data centre market.   Thomas commented: "Taiwan is one of the most advanced and mature economies in Asia with world class manufacturing and high tech industries, which are some of the main benefactors from the AI transformation. It is poised for growth in data centre demand as both the public and private sectors are accelerating the digitalisation of their operations and the migration to cloud computing. With our first project located in a well established but power scarce DC cluster in Neihu, Taipei, Epoch Digital is well positioned to capture the wholesale colocation demand from both global hyperscalers as well as leading domestic enterprises."   Actis has committed more than US$1.5 billion to digital infrastructure, including in data centres across Asia and Latin America.   You can access the DC Byte report here: https://lnkd.in/gw9XG7cF   #SustainableInfrastructure #SustainableInvesting #DataCenters

Actis and Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd. have formally launched joint venture Ample Parks, an Indian industrial and logistics real estate developer and operator.   A highly experienced management team has been appointed, with CEO Akash Rastogi leading the company. Ample Parks aims to acquire and develop approximately 1.5 million square metres of greenfield and brownfield sites in key markets across India with the aim of establishing itself as a leading industrial and logistics real estate solutions provider to global and local corporations.   The business has completed its first acquisition, a prime 70 acres industrial land parcel within Mahindra World City, Chennai, to develop an integrated industrial and logistics park.   Brian Chinappi, Partner, Head of Real Estate at Actis, commented: “I’m delighted to see Ample Parks get off the ground with this first acquisition. India’s industrial and logistics sector represents a tremendous investment opportunity, with the country’s market strongly benefitting from a boom in consumer demand domestically and a realignment of supply chains globally in favour of India, with many corporations implementing a China Plus One strategy. By bringing to bear Actis’ track record in sustainable real estate and Mahindra Lifespaces’ broader market expertise, Ample Parks is set to become a key player in this space, capitalising on the growth of this new economy real estate for our investors.”   Raghvendra Chandak, Director, Real Estate at Actis, added: “Our aspiration is for the platform to become one of the industrial and warehousing space providers of choice in India.”   Read the full announcement: https://lnkd.in/e6HuiWSK   #SustainableInfrastructure #SustainableInvesting #RealEstate
