There are different types of glaucoma but most are caused by an increase of pressure which damages the optic nerve. Treatment can slow the deterioration. It can be more difficult to spot in a dog than a human because: 👉 They can’t tell us what’s wrong! 👉 Sight isn’t their primary sense (unlike humans). Therefore they are less reliant and will cope better than humans with reduced vision.
