𝐕𝐃𝐈 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐎𝐟𝐟-𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 – 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 I spent the last two days at the VDI conference in Munich. Here’s my personal summary: 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐦𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬, with many presentations highlighting new advances in sensors, perception systems, and data management. I particularly enjoyed Tommy Ertbølle Madsen from AgriRobot, who introduced the concept of 4D imaging as a potential alternative to costly LiDAR systems. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝𝐬, 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 for developing autonomous heavy machinery. Volker Waurich from Construction Future Lab gGmbH shared some interesting examples of virtual prototyping, such as controlling a real excavator via a virtual model. My colleague, Marcus Klische, provided insights into cyberattacks on autonomous machines and the need for security management throughout the product lifecycle. 𝐈 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐎𝐄𝐌𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠. Technology alone rarely solves real-world problems, and I appreciated Janis J. Faltmann from ONE SMART SPRAY, a Joint Venture of Bosch and BASF sharing how they developed their spot-spraying solution in close collaboration with farmers across Europe. #offhighway #smartfarming #construction #agriculture #MHP – A Porsche Company

🚗 Transforming ADAS with Our Scalable 4D Imaging Radar Architecture 🚗 We're pioneering unlimited scalability. Our groundbreaking Radar-on-Chip not only enables 64VRx for mass-market ADAS with a single Radar-on-Chip but the architecture scales to 3096VRx and beyond for full autonomy. How? Simply by replicating the same Radar-on-Chip—no complex redesigns needed. Our unique scalable architecture is designed to be user-friendly and trivially synchronized for peak performance using software calibration. This simplifies board and antenna design, significantly reducing time-to-market (TTM) and streamlining deployment for a wide range of ADAS systems. Plus, with digital modulation the overall system provides best in class performance for resolution, contrast, and interference mitigation. One chip, limitless possibilities. #automotive #ADAS #Autonomy #Safety #radar
