Sometimes I feel like the universe is looking down here and saying: what would happen if this person meets this other one? 💥Explosion!! Yesterday I met Junior Lewis, in our annual GM Conference. He was invited to talk about the Employees of the Future, and oh boy, what a match! Everything he said rasonated so much with me that I could write letters about it. Since I have limited space to write, here are some key ideas: - We can be best in class when talking about amazing customer experience, but we need to be humble enough to ask the question: does our employees feels the same way? 🤔 - Recruitment is an art. And it’s everybody’s business. 👊🏼 - Onboarding is about development not judgement. 💪🏻 - When conducting an interview, we don’t know what the candidate went through to be there with us. Honor that by being fully present and make It worth it. We can transform people’s lives. ✨ - Little things matter. From a kind question to a honest feedback, we need to show that we care. For real. ❤️ Human to human. From job posting to negative answers, from onboarding to retention, we need to consider the human on the other side. This is belonging. 🥰 #ihg #recruitment #ihglife #people #humanressources #hr —— 📸. This picture was taken before we got lost in the streets of Belgrade trying to find the tour bus that was taking us back to the hotel! 😂 #rebeltour

Did you know, in the US, South Korea, and Türkiye having "a prestigious brand" is the most important factor driving consideration of whether to apply for a job, but the least important factor that keeps them there? In France, Saudi Arabia and Japan, a perception that the work will be "enjoyable and rewarding" is the most important factor in both joining and staying? And interestingly, in China the least important factor when joining a company is that it is "well managed and governed" but its the most important when retaining staff. Yesterday we launched a new study, the #EmployerBrandIndex. To construct it, we took the external perceptions of full or part time employees across 16 markets and asked them to rank employer brands in the industry they work in. We then took this information, as well as similar questions about their perceptions of their current employer to model both what is important when thinking of applying and what is important in retaining them. In the attached chart I've highlighted the 5 of 15 metrics that I thought were most interesting. To find out more, read the full report. When he started CGL's #overseas #recruitment #business in 2018, Chen Jing said their main focus was on #recruiting talent from overseas to return to #China. These included convincing design experts, both foreign and overseas #Chinese, to come to China to work for domestic car companies that had begun dominating the local market. However, in 2019, he noticed a significant trend emerging from the increasing number of Chinese companies going #global. This trend has continued -- and accelerated -- in the last couple of years. He said that while the #demand among these companies has skyrocketed, the pool from which to recruit suitable talent remains short in #supply. "I've had to decline #opportunities with several #clients every month because there are simply too many #job orders and we want to make sure we can engage each client we work with as optimally as possible," he said, adding that the team handling CGL's overseas recruitment business has also expanded in response. Currently, there are about 80 experienced #consultants dedicated to serving Chinese companies expanding overseas. CGL Group is a comprehensive talent asset management company that specializes in high-end executive search, organizational management consulting, investment and financing services, and expert networks. Click on the link in the comments section to read the feature article (originally in Chinese and auto-translated to English) based on Chen Jing's interview with Xiaguang News.
