Head, Maintenance and Utilities at Olamagri | Driving operational excellence
Celebrating 6 Years at Olamagri- A Journey of Growth and Achievement This month marks my 6th anniversary as the Head of Maintenance and Utilities at Ruyat Oil LTD, a proud subsidiary of Olamagri. Reflecting on this journey, I am filled with a deep sense of accomplishment and gratitude. Over these six years, I have had the privilege of leading two major plant upgrades, expanding our edible oil refinery from 50MT per day to 100MT per day, and later to 200MT per day. These projects were challenging yet rewarding, requiring extensive upgrades to our utilities to meet the new plant requirements. Despite space constraints, we managed seamless equipment erection without any safety incidents, ensuring smooth transitions and enhanced safety. Today, the plant can perform both physical and chemical refining, each with a capacity of 200MT per day. Additionally, we installed a 100MT per day fractionation plant, further enhancing our processing capabilities. These efforts have significantly scaled up production volumes, making our plant more profitable and competitive by lowering refining costs. This journey has honed my skills in project management, cost control, vendor and contractor management, and team building. My Plant Management skills have also grown tremendously, allowing me to handle complex projects with greater efficiency. One of my proudest contributions has been developing local capabilities in the fabrication and erection of plant and machinery. Also, working with diverse teams across various nationalities and cultures, and coordinating across continents and time zones, has enriched my professional experience immensely. Coordinating teams for plant expansion and utility upgrades simultaneously while managing intricate details has been a remarkable learning experience. I am especially grateful to Saurabh Kumar, CFA , Syed Arif Hassan Rizvi, Mohammed Aslam , Suresh Majeti , Vini Olickal, Damilola Adeniyi, Ronke (Ronnie) Alabi MBA, SHRM-SCP, ACPIM, Chimobi Nweke and Jaideep Biswas for their unwavering support and the valuable knowledge exchange opportunities. Their collaboration has been instrumental in our success. Looking ahead, I am excited about embracing bigger opportunities in project delivery and plant management.
