Can you imagine if you take a bus engine apart with the same concept to help mechanic to rebuild or troubleshoot we will reduce maintenance costs in half.

Three decades in 3D Printing | Business Strategy • Innovation • Entrepreneurship • M&A

When initially introduced, 3D printing was primarily used for "prototyping," focusing on "Form, Fit & Function" verification, with emphasis on form and fit. Even today, prototyping remains a prominent application in 3D printing. However, advancements in processes and materials have enabled 'Function' verification. As I observe this VR 3D representation of an assembly through Meta Quest 3 & CADDY app, I ponder whether this approach to design review poses a challenge to the 'Form and Fit' verification aspect of 3D printing and traditional manufacturing? Could these digital and VR methods have reached a stage where physical prototypes are no longer essential for form and fit verification? Or will they, reach there very soon?
