⭐ 🇫🇷 🗣 Amandine Julien from the French Horse and Riding Institute and responsible for Work Package 1 of EUnetHorse shares some updates from the first year of the project: ⏩Work Package 1 focuses on structuring networks to improve information exchange in the equine industry at European and national levels 🐴🌍💼. ⏩National and European Advisory Boards were established to guide the project and connect it to industry governance 🌍📋. ⏩ TANet (trainers and advisors network) was created and launched in April 2024 🚀📅. ⏩ Cross-visits are designed to encourage exchanges between farmers and experts, and to discover practices and solutions already implemented which could be extended across Europe. Two cross-visits have been already organized in France and Germany, and the next one will be in Poland 🤝🌱🔍. Tapir Theo, a resident of Allwetterzoo Münster, has been chosen as the oracle for Euro 2024, continuing a tradition of animal oracles predicting sports outcomes. These animal oracles, made famous by Paul the Octopus during the 2010 FIFA World Cup, are believed to predict the outcomes of football matches by choosing between different options, such as food items representing competing teams. As an oracle, Theo will provide predictions throughout the Euro 2024 tournament. ⚽ While Theo serves as an oracle at Allwetterzoo Münster, his wild counterparts urgently need our attention and support. Recent research highlights the critical need for conservation efforts to protect lowland tapirs from extinction in South American forests. With their distinctive appearance and vital ecological role, tapirs are severely declining across Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay. Human activities like road construction and hunting fragment their habitat, greatly endangering tapirs. Tapirs now occupy only 1.8% of their former range in the Atlantic Forest. Urgent conservation measures are vital in protecting tapirs and other endangered species. Support conservation efforts and make a positive impact on our ecosystems. 💥OUR NEW PROJECT💪WILD HORSES EUROPE 🐎 The only way to really understand the horse is to immerse yourself in his world. In his natural, wild and unconditional world. Observing his life, his behavior, his social life is extremely necessary to understand the horse in its essence. But how can we acquire this knowledge? Just by immersing ourselves in the world of #wildhorse.🐎 The real wild is now very rare to live and also regarding horses there is no place in the world where they do not see man. In Europe, then, the situation is more complicated: these animals do not have at their disposal the vast territories on which the iconic Mustangs of the United States can move, and often are territories inhabited by man, hence the need to manage them in a different and potentially invasive way. But we at #Animantia never give up and always go in search of remote and immaculate places where horses can simply be themselves. Where they can live without any human intervention or with proper management. Hard work but, after a few years of site inspections, we decided to launch our #Wildexperiences in #Europe, as well as in the #UnitedStates. Yes, wild horses also in Europe. There are and are very beautiful and especially interesting to experience. 📒In years we have selected only what comes closest to the real "wild". From #Italy to #Spain and #Portugal, we have chosen places where horses are kept to a minimum and live as naturally and independently as possible. This guarantees that we can observe their social and emotional life more pristine. Only in this way can we answer the question: who is the horse?
