Delaware’s progressive and collaborative efforts to address the opioid epidemic are having a positive impact. For the first time in a decade, our state saw a drop in fatal overdoses compared to the prior year, as reported by the Delaware News Journal. The article cites specific factors as contributing to the decrease, including reducing the stigma, medication-assisted treatments (MAT), Narcan distribution, and street outreach programs. All of those are part of what our compassionate staff does every day. At BCCS, we’ll continue these efforts and continue to advocate for effective, compassionate measures to treat and reduce substance misuse. https://ow.ly/pX2850RYZSC #OpioidCrisis #ThereIsHope
