Lacrosse Tower, a 21-storey residential high-rise in Melbourne, Australia, caught fire on November 24, 2014. In 2017, the Grenfell tower fire incident in London was yet another landmark combustible cladding fire. Both buildings were clad with an aluminium composite panel (ACP) with a core made from combustible plastic and were the primary cause of the fire’s rapid spread. Nearly ten years have passed since Lacrosse. Some jurisdictions have quickly responded to address the problem, putting in place extensive cladding remediation initiatives. Other jurisdictions have taken longer to react. Brownstones are typical urban houses in American cities, mainly in historic neighborhoods like Brooklyn and Manhattan in New York City. They are distinguished by their characteristic brownstone facades with elaborate architectural details. The 3D model I created consists of a series of modular pieces to offer flexibility and ease of use in creating buildings of different sizes. The modular set includes a variety of elements divided into floors, with each floor featuring different characteristics.

Next lot of corners emerge, due to the mismatch of the plot shape and geometry of the structure. Third lot of corners come up by the architectural adventures of unusual building shapes. Fourth types of corners are perceived with the wide and narrow road face of the plot, and the allowable height for the building. Fifth level of corners occur due to the grid iron layout of the roads.

Project: EOS Outdoor LightPanels were utilized to create a striking, brilliant opening facade for the entry of the famous DuPont Building in Wilmington. Fifteen (15) custom-sized LightPanels of 3000K, many of which required special, precisely-measured, curved shapes, were installed overhead to create a bright overhead canopy of lighting above the entrance doors. This project is a good example of how thin and versatile EOS LightPanel material can be used in creative ways to help preserve the original design intent of historic buildings.
