The PERFECT candidate shortlist doesn't exist, or does it? When it comes to finalising on a list of potential hires, finding the right number is key. From my experience, a shortlist of 3-6 highly qualified candidates usually provides a good balance. This range provides: -Enough variety for a well-rounded comparison -A focused selection that avoids overwhelming decision-makers -A more efficient hiring process that prioritizes quality over quantity -Allows for back-up options should one or more candidate(s) drop out What's the ideal number of candidates you'd to like to speak with before hiring? #hiringprocess #interviewprocess #automotivehiring

Navigating the fluctuation in hiring in the current employment landscape is hard!! As a result hiring processes are being compromised across the industry. It’s a fact, something I’m seeing and hearing so many recruiters discuss lately. Despite the investments in your brands, the social media hype you create, if the interactions people have with the brand are not consistent you are posed to lose them. Hiring processes are a classic stage where holes are uncovered. 📣Tighten your process 📣Don’t interview on a whim 📣Set clear goals and outcomes through interviews 📣Have a clear vision of what you intend the role to be before you meet people #rec2rec

Here’s the scoop: In my company, it seems pretty common for Recruiting Managers to kick off the recruitment process for roles before those positions are officially opened. This often means that about 80% of our hires come directly from managers doing their own interviews. 🤔 Just the other day, I noticed a new role pop up on our ATS, so I asked the manager if it was officially open. They mentioned they were still working out some details and it wasn't open yet. But then I found out they had already interviewed several candidates—none of whom were internal referrals! 😟 This situation leaves me feeling a bit uneasy. It’s been months since I and many of my TA colleagues have made any hires, and it’s beginning to feel demoralizing. I sometimes feel like I'm pulling candidates into a process that just isn’t goin...
