Friendly reminder: employee appreciation day is Friday, March 1. You don’t have to do anything extravagant for the day to be meaningful. In fact, I would encourage you to do this: for every direct report on your team, craft a personal email thanking them for their contribution, outline something specific positive you’ve seen them do over the past 30 days, and name a quality or strength they contibute to the team that you admire. We often overcomplicate this, forgetting that showing appreciation with our words is really, really powerful.
