Question: If we have enough talent in Australia for five teams why are our super rugby teams signing so many NZ and overseas players this year and still losing local talent to Japan, MLR, France, and the UK? They are all doing it and it doesn’t make sense if the argument is we have enough talent to sustain five competitive teams. Clearly we don’t if we are resorting to signing overseas players at the levels we are seeing across all the franchises. Combined across all teams we must now be close to a full 1st XV of overseas players.

What do you do with the sheep after you get them over the bridge.
England Rugby legend Sir Bill Beaumont has received the Freedom of the City of London, in recognition of his outstanding services to sport. Bill made his debut for England in 1975, going on to win 34 caps and leading England to their first Grand Slam for 33 years in 1980. He also captained the The British & Irish Lions and later managed them on the tour to New Zealand in 2005. Friendly Game ⚽️ 🇩🇪 Germany vs Greece 🇬🇷 Germany is in the preparation period for Euro 2024 How Germany played against Greece ? ⚽️ 💡Some Offensive Dynamics: Germany plays in a (1-4-2-3-1) , but when they are in an offensive process their team plays in (1-3-1-5-1) 📒 Functions by position : [GK]- Always available to be pass option [CB and CM] - Responsible for building from the back , trying to connect the game inside between the lines and also with the option of connecting on the sides [CM] - Player in the front of the line of 3 with responsibility for connecting the game, but very important in the team's balance [RB and LB] - They always provide width and depth so that when the interior game is closed , they are a safer passing line [RW , LW , CAM] - Players who play behind the striker, try to constantly play inside to receive between lines and turn into the game, also available for breaking movements. [ST] - Player who plays closer to the oppsing central defenders , but with enough mobility to make support movements to atrract the defense

Is it OK to try to be perfect? I'm not a rugby player anymore, but I do still run rugby events. As a player, I always strived for perfection. I heard a football player say in a podcast recently that he played great, but his team 'stunked' it up. Is that possible? I think not. We're prepping right now for 2024 Bermuda Intl 7s. I start with teams. For a 7s event, I always like to be accommodating, but it's always best to land your different divisions in groups of four. We have 2 fields in Bermuda -beautiful fields BTW- so with groups of four all teams are playing at the same time - resting at the same time. It's perfect. Next, I try to rank teams properly. A trip to Bermuda isn't always easy for teams to organize and fundraise, so parity has to be manufactured. Ranking teams is key. If you get that right you may have a few uneven pool matches, but a great final round. We've had that just about every year in Bermuda. We've had some great finals. Perfect. Because teams travel to the island and its early for the spring season, everyone plays thru. So the perfect pools of four end up playing for 15th, 13th, 11th, 9th, 7th, 5th, 3rd & 1st on Day 2. I just recalled a coaching clinic I attended as a player when I was in college (Cornell Rugby). A long time ago BTW. Ray Cornbill ran a lineout drill. His concept was that we shouldn't practice the perfect lineout but work through the scenarios where things go a little wrong. Practice cleaning up the not-so-perfect lineout. Thanks Ray. The drill is now a life lesson. Maybe that was the point? I'm planning a perfect tournament in Bermuda this spring with the help of the Bermuda Rugby Football Union and the support of Bermuda Tourism Authority. Perfection is the goal. Think about joining us with your team or just come on over and watch a great tournament. Oh and just ask THE Emil Signes, there was one day for one match that we (Atlantis Rugby Corporation) played PERFECT. SEE: https://lnkd.in/eaHJifgP Sign up your team: https://lnkd.in/ejGFFDcJ
