https://lnkd.in/eyN8AC59 The BBC Panorama programme examined the possible risks of receiving treatment from private healthcare providers who may not be well equipped to deal with emergency situations. Recently we helped a family to find answers when they sadly lost a family member due to an emergency while in private healthcare. This programme highlighted that a patient should be made aware of the limit of the skills, facilities and resources available at private hospitals if the worse outcomes occur. https://lnkd.in/eGRREZVF In our view patients should be advised of any limitations in the care provision should an emergency arise before consenting to an invasive procedure. #clinicalnegligence #medicalnegligence #spire #uksolicitors

Every year, hospitals across the US discharge 35 million patients. For many of these people, discharge signals the end of their medical care—but it shouldn’t. Most patients should be engaging in some type of follow-up care after a stint in the hospital. But one in three does not visit a healthcare provider within the recommended 30 days. This Innovista blog discusses the importance of proper transitional care and follow up--what it means for the patient and the healthcare system as a whole. #valuebasedcare #transitionalcare #healthcare #hospitalization
