The #EthnicityPayGap Campaign highlights that “Black […] and brown […] women could […] miss out on £105,000 to £350,000 of earnings across a working lifetime spanning an average of 35 years.” The ethnicity pay gap is the difference between the average (mean and median) hourly pay of ethnic minority and white British people. The #NHS Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Improvement Plan requires NHS organisations to develop and implement an improvement plan to eliminate ethnicity pay gaps by the end of this year. To help trusts meet this requirement, we are pleased to share our new guide: 'Counting the cost: Understanding your ethnicity pay gap'. The guide has been co-produced with leading healthcare law firm Hempsons, and offers a unique perspective on the topic, combining our extensive knowledge of the provider sector with the legal expertise from Hempsons. The guide includes: 🔷 Key learnings from Barts Health NHS Trust, Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Cambridgeshire County Council. 🔷 The view from Dianne Greyson, founder of the #EthnicityPayGap Campaign. 🔷 The legal framework and risks of inaction. 🔷 How to understand your data, calculate your ethnicity pay gap and apply an intersectional lens. 🔷 Strategies for minimising and closing the ethnicity pay gap. 🔷 The role of the board in driving improvement. 📄➡️ Read the guide here: https://bit.ly/3NyZuXW
