Phase one of the #MFANetwork is not only a mechanism for lessening the financial load of a military move, but also a bridge to additional support. Did you know that military families move on average every 2.5 years? And according to MFAN research, a recent PCS or military move puts families at heightened risk for economic insecurity, including the ability to put food on the table. Discover how MFAN formed a pilot program with leading brands to aid military families during moments of transition. Food insecurity is defined as lacking access to reasonably priced and nutritious food of adequate quality. Our latest Research Spotlight article highlights an important cross-sectional study from SSAFA the Armed Forces charity, Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust and the Northern Hub for Veterans and Military Families Research. The study explores the proportion of ex-Service personnel affected by food insecurity and identifies key factors associated with food insecurity within the #Veteran population. We've been collaborating with the fantastic team at The Royal Naval Benevolent Trust, which provides critical financial support to Royal Navy and Royal Marines personnel and their dependents. Working together, we've transformed their grant application process via the Lightning Reach portal to enable them to get more support out to those who need it. Together, here's what we've achieved 🏆 ✅ Faster processing: grant decisions have been brought down to just 1-2 days, so individuals get the support they need quicker. ✅ Secure data handling: sensitive applicant information is securely stored within the portal, minimising any risk to individuals' data.   ✅ Better financial insights: our open banking feature helps RNBT quickly and effectively assess applicants' financial situations, removing time-consuming manual reviews. ✅ Reaching new demographics: through the portal, RNBT now reaches younger applicants and those in vulnerable situations like domestic violence.
