Fubon Art Museum in Taipei is for rich folks Someone commented on the cable report aired the morning of June 4, 2024 regarding the newly-opened Fubon Art Museum in Taipei that the Monet exhibit being pathetic in scope. The report exposes the admission of NT$1,200 charged by said art gallery, as does the attached report of June 3, 2024, that is far more expensive than that at the most famous art galleries globally. The gallery in Taipei even sells cookies for NT$3,500. Another Taiwanese said in a FB post that the Fubon gallery is for rich folks. The spokeswoman for the gallery says the building is designed by famous architects for a princely sum and the admission price is based on the user-pays principle. The simple fact is that the greatest artist ever--Mother Nature--exhibits her masterpieces across the world for free, including the 4 shown in southern Thailand and on the west coast of Canada. Why pay to see manmade artworks that are ho-hum in comparison? #FubonArtMuseumInTaipeiIsForRichFolks https://lnkd.in/g6DzaZvUu

Introducing this project on an Arrernte sacred site (Women’s Site) in the heart of Central Australia (Alice Springs) is a direct insult to the Mparntwe Traditional Custodians. While we acknowledge the perspectives of those who view tourism and commercial interests as beneficial, prioritising these over a site of profound spiritual significance, which has been sacred to the Arrernte people for thousands of years, is deeply troubling. Once again, we are witnessing the disregard of a culturally significant site in favour of external gains, undermining the preservation of an ancestral heritage that has shaped this land for millennia. This issue transcends economic interests; it is about safeguarding the heritage of the world’s oldest living culture for future generations. Is this a new movement by Indigenous interests that places commercial opportunities and gains above our cultural rights as the First Peoples of this nation? Traditional Custodian.

We took an outing today. Come with us to the London Art Fair. This fair is quite exciting for a number of reasons. Firstly, it’s the inaugural art event of the new year, effectively reviving the art market. The galleries are showcasing works from prominent artists and reflecting the latest trends from the previous year. However, the standout feature is undoubtedly the impressive prints that are on display. This is particularly significant as it offers a more accessible entry point into the art market for new collectors. The print market is a dynamic segment of the art market that is rapidly gaining popularity, positioning it as a sector to watch closely in 2024.
We attended the Preview Day of the London Art Fair excited to see its first prints & editions section, featuring galleries that focus on limited editions. A fantastic addition to the show, nurturing collectors who want to grow their portfolios and host big brand names on their walls. We spoke to Adrian Hill Fine Art & Stow Art House about the prints in their booths. Our Market Editor Sheena Carrington commented on the popular featuring of Hockney’s across the fair, and rare colourway Warhol’s at Tanya Baxter Contemporary. The challenge of art forgery is present within the institutional (museum) system as the collective expertise is capable of failure to determine what is a fake artwork. Read Hephaestus Analytical latest informative post.
Both of these Popovas are from museum collections, can you tell which is a forgery? There are countless examples of museums acquiring and displaying forgeries throughout the history of art. The Courtauld Gallery, London and the Ludwig Museum, Cologne have both recently held exhibitions displaying forgeries that had been acquired and displayed throughout each institution’s histories.

Of course this art is crazy. What art is not crazy? When it's not crazy it's not art. Jean Dubuffet Obviously by 1945 the world was also crazy and there were many who questioned the processes and genealogies of creators authenticated as artists. If we listen to Dubuffet, as to anyone else who has arguments to define concepts based on experiences and observations, we arrive at one of the possible questions, we can all be creators of art: Social art, urban art in the street or in galleries? Where to find it? Although perhaps the question is where we can experience the sensation/reflection/experience that art awakens in us. As a game for the intellect, for our own existence... we keep asking ourselves and questioning the evolution or involution that the manifestations (with the tools incorporated in this era, pose us). #artbrut #landart #urbanart https://lnkd.in/ditTEWiB and if you have time check this (https://lnkd.in/d9rnqXkM)
