It is perplexing that, in the 21st century, Africa continues to rely heavily on physical combat to address issues such as terrorism, vandalism, banditry, and kidnapping. The persistent loss of lives to these threats undermines African nations' territorial integrity and sovereignty. How long can we continue down this path? Technological progress has introduced tools such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and drones, which offer precision, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and time management capabilities that surpass traditional methods. To address these challenges, I recommend that the African Union and the West African governments prioritize the acquisition of drones equipped with Artificial Intelligence for comprehensive security surveillance across our borders. This approach mirrors successful practices in countries like Burkina Faso, which effectively monitors security threats in its neighboring regions. Several countries, including the United States, Israel, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, India, and China, have demonstrated the effectiveness of drone technology in enhancing security without endangering their personnel. #GodBlessAfrica!
