DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COMPUTER SCIENCE & CYBERSECURITY. Computer science is a broad field encompassing the study of algorithms, data structures, programming languages, software development, and the theoretical foundations of computing.It focuses on the design and implementation of computer systems. On the other hand, cybersecurity is a specialized subset within computer science that specifically deals with protecting computer systems, networks, and data from unauthorized access, attacks, and damage.  It involves measures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information in the digital realm.In essence, computer science is a broader discipline, while cybersecurity is a more specialized area within it, concentrating on safeguarding digital assets. While it is an added benefit if you possessed the fair knowledge and understanding of how computer systems works.It is pertinent to note that, understanding the basics of internet Protocols, Firewalls, Malwares, Threats/Attack Vectors and Threat Detection & Prevention Devices, and how it works can be much more rewarding and interesting to acquire as a Soft/Hard skill in cybersecurity. #beaware #information

🌟 Excited to Share My Graduation Project! 🌟 I am thrilled to announce that I completed my graduation project in January 2024, focusing on a critical issue: Detecting Phishing Websites using machine learning algorithms. 🔍 Project Overview: The increasing use of the Internet has led to a rise in cybercrime, particularly phishing techniques aimed at stealing personal information. My objective was to develop a model for detecting malicious URLs using algorithms such as: Random Forests Decision Trees Logistic Regression Support Vector Machine (SVM) K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) Naive Bayes Neural Networks We evaluated the models based on key metrics like accuracy, F-measure, precision, and sensitivity. I am proud to share that this project received the highest rating at my university! 🎓 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported me throughout this journey, from my mentors to my peers.
