AMPYR Distributed Energy (ADE), a leading investor in onsite sustainable energy solutions, and Olympus Power, an established UK renewable energy developer, have announced a £50m partnership that will provide innovative financing for clean energy infrastructure. The agreement includes a combination of operational assets and a pipeline of over 50MW of rooftop solar developments for commercial and industrial customers in the UK and across Europe. Working together, ADE and Olympus Power will accelerate the roll-out of onsite renewable energy by providing long-term Power Purchase Agreement financing to make it simple and affordable for businesses to decarbonise their operations. ADE is backed by AGP Sustainable Real Assets, a global infrastructure development and asset management group that invests in, develops and operates sustainable infrastructure. The Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO)'s Integrated System Plan (ISP) sets the stage with robust data and predictive models to guide the journey forward. The Project Symphony final report has been published! Project Symphony demonstrated how customer-owned Distributed Energy Resources (DER) like rooftop solar, batteries, and major appliances can address system and network challenges while unlocking economic and environmental benefits for Western Australia. This unique pilot showed that orchestrating customer-generated energy as part of a Virtual Power Plant (VPP) can effectively manage ‘peaks and troughs’ of energy consumption on the network, while providing value to customers.
