A huge apology to anyone who maybe offended but I can’t stand to watch the Equine industry continue to cause our wonderful animals excruciating pain on a daily basis by continuing to promote grain and sugar in equine feed that is causing an epidemic of Equine Gastric Ulcers and Impaction colic. They all know that fibre/forage is thier natural feed and for 10yrs there has been a liquid fibre feed which has been proven to prevent these conditions, but because it’s so disruptive, the industry wants to keep it suppressed but unsurprisingly the vets use it in all their clinics. The pro riders are all tied into sponsorship deals that pay them huge sums of money, free entries, free feed, etc… which is very attractive and they accept these things for status and ego… never mind the fact that the free feed is what is perpetuating painful digestive conditions. 😩 The FEI and WHW have known about this liquid feed for 10 years and they are both well aware that horses can never impact on a liquid so why is impaction colic still the biggest killer of horses in the world when you can now ‘lead a horse to water and you can make it drink?’ 🤔 A liquid fibre feed forms a mat in the stomach that prevents acid splash and reduces the occurrence of ulcers, this is science fact, so why is EGUS the highest claim across insurance companies in the UK? Something is not right and it needs speaking about! We have a duty of care to look after our animals and to do the best we can do by them… therefore everyone should now be examining their Social Licence to Operate (SLO) to ensure that they provide horses with the most appropriate care and not just because they are sponsored by a particular brand who are making millions on the suffering of horses worldwide, showing this is clearly ‘money over welfare’ of horses. 100% of race horses and 85% of sport horses have ulcers, so isn’t it about time we started feeding them a healthy fibre based diet rather than a diet of omeprazole!! Would you keep feeding a child a meal that gave it colic and just feed it spoonfuls of antacid or would you change the meal? As a fully qualified Equine Nutritional Hydrotherapist, I am willing to put my neck on the line for our horses. What I developed and patented 10yrs ago is helping horses around the world but the industry is scared that it gets out as sadly there is no money in healthy horses 😢💔🐴 It’s time to stop doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome!
