It is particularly useful for estimating reservoir size, permeability, and fluid properties such as viscosity and compressibility. RTA involves analyzing the transient behavior of well production rates and pressure changes over time. By analyzing the transient response of production data, engineers can obtain valuable information about the reservoir, including reservoir boundaries, connectivity between wells, reservoir heterogeneity, and the presence of natural fractures or other reservoir properties. RTA is commonly used in the oil and gas industry for well testing and reservoir characterization purposes. It is used to estimate parameters such as the reservoir permeability, skin factor, drainage area, reservoir pressure, and productivity index. The analysis is typically performed using specialized software tools that can handle the complex calculations involved in RTA.
