I was never this smart in my college days! 👨🎓 Recently, I had the incredible privilege of virtually connecting with the brilliant students at the prestigious IIT Guwahati. As we captured a group selfie, transcending geographical boundaries, the energy in that classroom was palpable. We were about to embark on a journey exploring the game-changing potential of 3D printing for mass customization. Their inquisitive minds posed thought-provoking questions, delving into the intricacies of various 3D printing technologies, material options, and product design applications. We discussed how mass customization could disrupt traditional business models, empowering customers to personalize products like never before. It was a true meeting of minds, where innovation and curiosity collided, sparking ideas that could reshape the manufacturing landscape forever. I was truly humbled and inspired by their passion and enthusiasm. Together, we envisioned a future where personalization is the norm, and every dream becomes a reality through the power of 3D printing. Thank you Dr. Ajeet Kumar, PhD ! #3DPrinting #MassCustomization #Manufacturing #Innovation #ProductDesign #IITGuwahati #FutureOfTech

Most of the computational tools are advancements of the existing traditional methods, while some are futuristic, forecasting the possible trends of the near world. Fused Craft always existed as part of the two dimensional production. If you see the traditional block printing, Saari printing, street posters have the stencils/block that can be a guideline or part of the finished Craft. Now, 3D printing is available in India for constructions, prototypes are being made. Many companies are trying to make it affordable. The form and finish of 3D printing actually looks as if it’s handmade. ‘Design and Innovation Centre’ at School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada (SPAV) is the significant transformation in design vocabulary, brought about by accelerating technology and emphasis on interdisciplinary demand of a new age for both learning and practice. All the Computational tools should work towards restoring these craft practices to preserve them and maintain our cultural heritage. Get full issue at : https://lnkd.in/ejf4tNR Chandrakant S. We stepped up our manufacturing game when in February 2024, IIT Madras marked a major milestone by launching an advanced 3D printing farm, featuring over 25 FabMachines 3D printers by Fabheads Automation. This initiative has already begun reshaping the institute’s approach to additive manufacturing, enabling students to engage in real-world, hands-on learning with state-of-the-art technology. The highlights that stood out to me: • 25+ FabMachines 3D printers using continuous carbon fiber technology. • Powered by C6 Slicing Software, India’s first cloud-based slicing tool. • Fabheads Automation, an IITM alumnus-led venture, leads the charge. The farm is not only an educational hub but also a center for innovation and sustainable manufacturing practices. It enhances precision production, reduces waste, and makes cutting-edge tech accessible to innovators. What does this mean for India? This collaboration strengthens India’s global standing in additive manufacturing and showcases the potential of homegrown talent. It’s a powerful step towards making India a leader in advanced manufacturing solutions. #3dprinting #technology #semiconductors #research

As of March 2023, there are 129 3D-printed buildings in the world. 3D printing in houses is the future because of these reasons: > It’s cost-effective > It’s quick > It reduces material, labor, and waste costs > It’s eco-friendly > It has fewer construction errors In India, there have been only a few projects, including a post office in Bangalore and a house in IIT Madras. Some challenges are regulatory issues, the cost of technology, public perception, and lack of skilled labor. What are your thoughts on this? #3DPrinting #3DTechnology
