What I did in 2013 unknowingly, I’m doing it knowingly now! In 2010, my dad bought the first desktop in our home! The sole purpose was to do my extensive school projects in class 10. Of course, we don’t use our computers only for project work, right? I was in my 10th grade. I was so fascinated by the tool called PhotoShop through my classmate. He was a designer, and I wanted to become a designer too. So, I kept exploring the tool and gradually improved myself to a point where I could replicate designs by seeing tutorials, as I reached my 12th grade. Knowingly or unknowingly, I was sharing those works on my Facebook timeline, along with the other happenings. Never did I ever imagine that, after almost a year since then, it was going to be a turning point in my life. Yes, during my second semester of college, one of my classmates looked at my Facebook timeline and said, “You’ve used the pen tool with a lot of details, would you be interested in working in our club?“. Life changed since then! It was the first ever encounter of how important a Portfolio is. All I was doing back then during my school days was documenting my work and the things I’ve been undergoing regularly. It had kept me noticeable and authentic. ✨Breaking the Silence: A Journey from Shy Child to Confident Speaker✨ When I was in college, I was an introvert. I only had 2-3 friends and never participated in any extracurricular activities. I had a dream to start my own business but never knew how or when to begin. I started using Facebook Marketplace to earn some passive income. However, my classmates used to mock me for that. I heard so many negative comments about myself - things like "She's just arrogant," "She won't do anything in her life," and "She just boasts so much about herself." Whenever I entered class, many of the girls used to call me "Sales Girl"🥺 But I knew one day, this "sales girl" label would change, and it did in my 4th year of college (2021)🫰🏻 I bought many things myself, including my iPhone, laptop, and camera. Recently, we even moved to a small space that we can call our office🤍🥹 Not only that, I recently gifted a gold ring to my father❤️ Being a college student, this was always a dream of mine. Now, even my seniors compliment me and say they're proud of me🫶 When I went to Dtu for a workshop this week, all those college memories came flooding back... Trust me, you too can achieve anything you set your mind to🙏🥹 You are limitless, the only thing that can stop you is yourself 🔥🔥🔥 So, go out and conquer the world✅🤍 I'm cheering you on the loudest!🥹 ✅ What's your story? Looking for an engaging way to teach your students about the world without leaving your classroom and worrying about travel expenses? Consider virtual field trips! One exceptional virtual field trip I discovered while exploring educational resources is the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. Through their website, you can explore current and past exhibits or even "walk" through the museum using intuitive navigation tools. The immersive camera work makes it feel as if you're actually there! You can zoom in on images to read detailed descriptions, explore every floor of the museum, and examine exhibits up close. Additionally, the website offers guided video tours, where a narrator provides thorough explanations of the attractions. This is a fantastic way to transform your classroom experience. Not only does it bring the museum to your students, but it also promotes student-centered learning by giving them control over their exploration. In my future classroom, I plan to use this tool for a research project. I’d give my students 40 minutes to explore the Smithsonian’s website, navigate through current and past exhibits, and select a topic or attraction that interests them. They would then use the available resources to write a research paper, which they would later present to the class. As 21st-century educators, we have so many opportunities to use technology to teach in ways that were once unimaginable. Send this day two by our intern Zachary Dodson as he implements a responsive quote type called media-quote. We'll wire it up to HAXTheWeb and then groups that want to start making microsites with HAX will have access to the same great tools that faculty and instructional designers have had for years. By venturing into design treatments, we can take HAX ability to offer high scale, low cost website-tonight style tech to more use-cases. This directly benefits students because... - Students work on the assets in class learning skills for the workforce - Student clubs have tons of websites they don't want to need to know how to make - Any accessibility and UX issues resolved in tangentially related projects almost always directly benefit students taking online courses made in HAX because of it's revolutionary fix once fix everywhere approach to build a more accessible and sustainable web. Here are a few quick overviews of my experience designing this modern online school interface, that I've recently finished designing🪄 COLOUR THEME 🎨 For this design, I chose a gradient background transitioning from pink to yellow. This vibrant yet soothing palette aims to create a welcoming and lively atmosphere, reflecting the fun and dynamic nature of online learning. INSPIRATION 🌟 The inspiration behind this design comes from the idea of making education more accessible and enjoyable for students of all ages. I wanted to create a platform that not only facilitates learning but also inspires curiosity and a love for knowledge. CHALLENGES🤔 One of the main challenges was ensuring that the platform was intuitive and user-friendly for students across different age groups. Balancing simplicity with functionality required careful planning and testing. Another challenge was creating engaging content that could cater to the diverse learning styles and needs of students. Ensuring the visuals were inclusive and representative of all students was also a crucial aspect that took considerable effort. TARGETED USERS🎯 This platform is designed for students from elementary school to high school.
