Ops Update - Levant Region Following recent events, Grimnir, its staff and collaborative partners are focussing our efforts on operational support within the region With a team who have abundance of experience in pre evacuation and evacuation experience from Libya, Gabon, Niger, Gaza, Afghanistan and Ukraine our team have experience and knowledge to co-ordinate, plan and implement country evacuations through to crisis management reporting. Key challenges facing operators in the area currently; - Airports - Unpredictability of flights, schedules and airspace closure - Ground Logistics - Checkpoints, documentation checks, availability of vehicles - Communication - GPS sporadic availability - Local Security - With raised tensions there is a low tolerance - Curfews - Implementation of new curfews In response to the above challenges our local teams remain steadfast in providing multitude of services both in Lebanon and Israel. - Ground logistics (Fixers, Security, SUV's, smaller vehicles) - Aviation Charters - With permits and insurance in place we have options available Light and wide body airframes with permissions in place - Evacuation planning and coordination - Full end to end consultancy, guidance and operations - Medical - Medical evacuation partners and consultations in place - Government Liaison - Where government permissions, visas required we can consult and liaise with crisis teams in multiple countries worldwide. 24 years Experience as a firefighter in arabic

Reflecting back to 2018, I found myself deployed to Iraq whilst serving within the Royal Engineers. During this operation, I took the lead role instructing the ISF in multiple disciplines of EMOE. So, what was my role? 🤷🏽♂️ ● Ensuring Team Competence and cohesion: Making sure the teams around me were highly capable and all qualifications were up to date. Keeping morale high in a challenging environment was crucial. Selecting the right team for the job was a key factor in our success. ● Safety: Conducting risk assessments, preparing method statements, and drafting work instructions were part of the job. Determining the necessary PPE, calculating the right length of safety cord for each bang, and coping with the extreme Summer temperatures (often reaching the high 40s) were critical. These details were communicated to all involved through bonnet briefs and toolbox talks. ●Organisation: From managing transport, equipment, ammunition, and explosives to coordinating training areas and observing religious holidays, everything had to work in sync to ensure smooth and satisfactory training delivery without delays. ● Flexibility: Now, im not talking about a bunch of guys doing the splits in the middle of the desert here 🤣. But flexibility in the military is essential. Not everything goes to plan, so always having a Plan B (and C!) was necessary. The phrase "Adapt and Overcome" was often used and put into practice. Fast forward 6 years to the present day, although I'm no longer serving, my day-to-day life still looks quite similar. Just a different set of PPE, I suppose. 🤷🏽♂️

I would like to share my experience from the 1250 Logement Khemis Miliana Algeria project during the years 2018-2020. Algeria was once a French colony, so the daily language used is a mix of Arabic and French. Interestingly, the firefighting department is called "protection civile." The method of extinguishing fires using a fire extinguisher (APAR) in Algeria differs from the way fires are extinguished in Indonesia. In Indonesia, firefighters walk forward towards the fire point, while in Algeria, they walk backwards towards the fire point. The reason for walking backwards is to allow firefighters to quickly turn their heads and protect their faces.
