Whether active duty or civilian employee, everyone in the Air Force is an Airman. Civilians take the same oath, enjoy many of the same benefits, and play just as critical a role in fulfilling the Air Force’s critical mission in defense of the nation and its interests. We’ve got important work to do, and you could be just the one to do it. To see each new job opening as they are posted, subscribe to our automated job notifications at https://lnkd.in/d7kZWgpU.

31 July…my last day on active duty in the Air Force (albeit on terminal leave). Much remains to be done. The Air Force must determine how best to present forces to combat commanders; this effort is underway. The Air Force must innovate to ensure it gains and maintains Air Superiority (Air Dominance is unlikely)…this requires an Airpower revolution. Budgets are unyielding…it’s time to think. The Air Force needs to focus on lethality, not AFI36-2903. The Air Force Reserve needs to develop a strategy which defines where they are operational and where they are strategic depth; and then ensure Combatant Commanders understand use of Reserve Forces. The Air National Guard needs to cease “land grabs” and base it’s force structure and missions on supporting the Regular Air Force (while still maintaining the capability to meet state requirements). It’s urgent…it’s past time. No one is going to tell you to do it. You just need to get after it. Parting shots from O-6…we live in fame or go down in flame… United States Air Force U.S. Air Force Reserve Air National Guard CQ B. Dave Allvin Mike Loh John Healy

From these trials and experiences, flywheel device training provides a variable load modality to target power, strength, and likely aerobic outcomes. Thus, this modality is a practical tool for deployed environments where space is limited (e.g., space, military ships, police departments, fire departments, aircraft hangars, military operational forward operating bases).

This Saturday May 18th marks the 74th anniversary of the inception of Armed Forces Day. The first Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 20, 1950, marked the first combined demonstration by America's defense team of its progress, under the National Security Act, towards the goal of readiness for any eventuality. It is the first parade of preparedness by the unified forces of our land, sea, and air defense. In the comment section of my thread, add your name and branch of service you are or have served in. This is mind-boggling. Just a "no", without an explanation? If it's operationally feasible, our troops ought to be protected from the elements. The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology has published several studies showing that service members are at a greater risk of developing skin cancer than those who have not served. We now have even more evidence to confirm this — including data showing that Air Force officers have not only a greater chance of developing melanoma but also of dying from it. Many boonie/bucket hats come with a UPF rating of 50+, meaning they block out nearly 98% of harmful UV rays. Sunscreen isn't routinely issued. So the only option is purchasing sunscreen from the PX, or having family ship you some? Not a good look, USAF.

Question: Does National Military Service benefit a country? No doubt there will be pros and cons: Pros: - Provides training and skills, which can be transferable into the civilian market - Generates a disciplined mind and outlook - Gives experience on what real teamwork is about - Enables the individual to think clearly in a pressured environment - Provides for a larger pool of resources to call upon in time for need Cons: - Could potentially weaken the military as not everyone is cut out for service - Would increase defence spending exponentially, which could lead to higher taxes I’m sure there is more, so please add your thoughts. Full disclosure: I’m retired Air Force

Air Dominance of US Air Force: F-22 Raptor The F-22, a critical component of the Global Strike Task Force, is designed to project air dominance, rapidly and at great distances and defeat threats attempting to deny access to our nation's Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corps. The F-22 cannot be matched by any known or projected fighter aircraft.

DD 214 Information The DD214 is the Department of Defense's verification form to prove that an individual was in the military. https://lnkd.in/g3dnsMsc The DD Form 214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty, generally referred to as a "DD 214", is a document of the United States Department of Defense, issued upon a military service member's retirement, separation, or discharge from active-duty military service. The DD214 is the Department of Defense's verification form to prove that an individual was in the military. This document helps veterans obtain all the benefits to which they are entitled and is worth its weight in gold due, so keeping track of it is of vital importance. It's a good idea to have multiple copies of this document, just in case. If a veteran runs out of copies of his or her DD 214, there are ways to obtain another one, but it could take weeks, if not months, to receive the new copies by mail.
