🌍 Let's shine a spotlight on Accessibility in the COMPASS Model!💻 Today, we are directing our attention to the "A" dimension, highlighting the paramount importance of accessibility in fostering sustainable technology practices. 🔓𝐀 - Accessibility: Accessibility underscores the necessity of ensuring that the benefits of sustainable technology are accessible to all, regardless of socioeconomic status, gender, or geographical location. Did you know that about 12.9 million women are working in the informal waste sector, which potentially exposes them to toxic e-waste and puts them and their unborn children at risk? Bridging the digital divide is crucial in ensuring equitable access to sustainable technology solutions. Prioritising accessibility to proper sustainable practice ensures that everyone can participate in and benefit from the transition to sustainability with a minimal negative impact on health.  By fostering inclusivity and breaking down barriers to access, we can empower individuals and communities to engage with and contribute to sustainable technology initiatives. The Circular Library Network (CLN) is an Icelandic sharing station infrastructure provider and member of the Digital Kiosks network. The start-up aims to reduce waste, encourage responsible consumption, and foster community engagement through focusing on creating modular, adaptable and easy to build infrastructure for libraries, municipalities, community projects, student housing, and real estate operators. 🌱 Empowering the #NextGeneration: #MOVING2020 has actively engaged over 1300 young people from the 23 mountain regions through workshops, field trips, and discussions. Our aim was to understand their views and explore their potential roles in shaping the sustainable future of these areas and #valuechains. Major insights: 🔸 Young people value their regions but are concerned about challenges like #ClimateChange and lack of investment. 🔸 Strong calls for improved infrastructure, and enhanced education and training opportunities. 🔸 Greater involvement of young people in policy-making is essential. The United Nations Summit of the Future saw the adoption of the Pact for the Future, including a Global Digital Compact and Declaration on Future Generations. The Pact was adopted by consensus and addresses critical global issues around sustainable development, the #SDGs, and advanced technologies.🌍 But adoption is just the first step. True progress requires inclusivity – all voices must be heard, especially our youth. They deserve and must have a seat at the decision-making table. 📺 Have shared my thoughts on the Summit, the importance of inclusivity, and our youth having their power. 🤝 How can we ensure all voices, particularly youth, are represented in shaping a sustainable future?
