Did you know that the first single-engine helicopter to fly with instrument flight rules (IFR) capabilities took to the skies 50 years ago today? On August 27, 1974, a Sud-Aviation SA-341G Gazelle helicopter flew for the first time in Texas using IFR - a technology that enhances situational awareness when weather conditions are less than ideal, reducing the pilot's workload, increasing safety and enhancing efficiency. Fifty years later, and again in Texas, the world's best-selling single-engine helicopter, the H125, is being used to conduct IFR flight tests, with the aim of receiving certification before the end of the year. This new feature will expand the H125's all-weather mission capabilities, particularly for training operations, emergency medical services (EMS), law enforcement, border patrol, and private and business aviation (PBA) missions. #AirbusHelicopters #MakingMissionsPossible #H125
