QUADRILATERAL MEETING FOR #COMETINTERCEPTOR IN MILAN In these days European Space Agency - ESA, JAXA: Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency and ArkEdge Space Inc. visited the HQs of OHB Italia S.p.A. to reach an important milestone: the signature of the Interface Requirements Documents (#IRD) related to the Japanese Probe B1. The #design of the Probe B1 is now agreed. Meeting each other personally is always a great #enhancement and makes teams even more effective and cohesive. Comet Interceptor is an ESA/JAXA mission with the aim to study a new #comet that has never passed through the inner #SolarSystem. After the launch, the satellite will be positioned at the Lagrangian point L2, one and a half million km far from Earth, where it will patiently intercept a celestial body with the awaited features. www.ohb.italia.it

This initiative is the right step towards a more #sustainable use of satellites in #LEO. As a manufacturer of propulsion systems, #ArianeGroup recognized this need early on. This mission will help fill a major gap in the weatherpredictions. How? by providing data on what happens inside the clouds. To do this it uses 3 instruments (supplied by Europe and Japan). The information goes into models who make predictions on (amongst other things) radiation. The 4th instrument measures the actual radiation and can thus be used to check / update the models. We can only do projects on this scale by working together across borders.

From Earth to Beyond: Mission Control Systems procurement for Space Missions 🛰️ Our ground segment team is currently at the forefront for procuring, testing and validating Mission Control Systems (MCS) for the following ESA space missions: * ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter * BepiColombo * Solar Orbiter * JUICE (JUpiter ICy moons Explorer) * HERA * ERcoDS The MCS is a critical component for satellite monitoring, control, and security. It interfaces with other vital elements of a Satellite System, such as Mission Planning and Flight Dynamic Systems. Each mission comes with unique operational set of requirements, necessitating a tailored approach to ensure mission success.  We are proud to contribute to launch, LEOPs and satellite operations by coordinating software support Teams.
