📹 So happy to finally deliver this project for Odysseo, featuring their inspiring new initiative, the "Odysseo Foundation." Odysseo is more than just an aquarium that attracts visitors—it’s about LOVE, LEARN, and PROTECT. They have a deep mission to safeguard our planet. Through this project, we aimed to show that Odysseo is not just a place, but a movement. With the creation of the Odysseo Foundation, their objective is clear: to protect and restore our marine ecosystems. 🌱 Plant 10,000 mangroves, 🌿 Create the first seagrass nursery in the Indian Ocean, 🐠 Restore coral reefs. These are just a few of the incredible projects they'll be spearheading to preserve the ocean and its treasures. As a videographer, I focused on capturing the essence of their passion and commitment, using a blend of powerful visuals and storytelling. My goal was to reflect the beauty of the ocean and the crucial work Odysseo is doing both above and below the water. 🎬 #OdysseoFoundation #OceanConservation #MarineLife #Sustainability #Videography #Mauritius #ProtectThePlanet #ConservationEfforts #MangroveRestoration #CoralReefRestoration #SeagrassNursery #FilmmakingForGood Eclosia Odysseo

Weekly Nature Exploration Tips 🏕️ Tip #7: Field Guides for Outdoor Adventures 📚🌳 While technology is great, there’s something magical about holding a physical field guide in your hands. • Why Use It? Field guides are wonderful for identifying local plants, birds, rocks, and insects, making them a perfect companion for a family nature walk or hike. • Classic Examples: Region-specific guides can give detailed info on species you’re likely to encounter. Recommend 100 trees of India & other series by DK India books for beginners. • How It Helps: Field guides offer a tactile learning experience, encouraging kids to slow down, observe closely, and compare what they see with the book. What's your favorite go-to field guide? Let us know in the comments! #GreenPanther #NatureExploration #FieldGuides #OutdoorLearning #KidsInNature

Nature Knows Best. When it comes to deciding on what type of experience and accommodation to build for guests, start with the land. It sounds obvious, but I want to share some reasons why. Spend time just being on your site and learning the land’s language. Really take it in if you haven’t already. Listen and experience its rhythms and seasons. Learn how the local wildlife interact with the space and what it sounds like to be there. I don’t mean take a site survey (although that should be done too), but rather absorbing the sort of information you can’t add to a spreadsheet. This will provide you with insight as to what this land’s message is. What story is being told by this parcel of land? - Does it invite you to stay and rest? - Does it want to be explored? - Does it excite adventure? The land will have a unique impact of its visitors. When we let it, nature wants to speak. It can tell us: - How best to look after it. - How to preserve it’s heritage. - How to connect to it. All of these aspects together will create the unforgettable experience you are wanting to create for your guests. And you are also there to help spread the land’s message to others. This is called a Brand Story and it is how you share the message. Use the untapped wisdom of the land when creating an overall experience and offering for your guests. And then tell the world the story the land has to tell. Photo: Soapstone Lake, Oregon USA by Eric Muhr #Nature #Wisdom #Message #BrandStory

So, it’s important to understand how much krill chinstrap penguins and other marine predators are consuming. This can help scientists to predict future population trends and inform conservation and ecosystem management strategies. It’s challenging to observe directly how penguins catch their underwater prey in areas of remote ocean habitat. However, thanks to innovations in technology that have allowed for ever more powerful remote monitoring, our understanding of their foraging behaviour has rapidly grown during the last decades. #predators #marine #climatechange #ecosystem #conservation #penguins #machinelearning #oceanhabitat #contentwriter #freelancewriter #author #editor #mediaconsultant #publicrelations

I was curious to see the forest coverage of the Philippines’ last frontier, and it looks like a major portion of the island is covered by trees. Thanks to Milos Popovic, PhD for sharing his tutorial on creating 3D maps in R. I’ll be posting a few more maps of Palawan as I like exploring this island a bit more. #rayshader #rayrender #Palawan

But the truth is, there is no such thing as a ‘perfect reef restoration technique’ that works out every time; just like any garden on land or activity in nature, sometimes the unexpected happens! This interactive map is our way to share with you what’s really going on with Yaf Keru – no frills, no greenwash. It is our way to include you in our work, and share with you the evolution of our restoration sites over time. It is our way to publicly acknowledge those that have supported various aspects or Yaf Keru over the years. And lastly, for those that have been here and transplanted corals with their own hands, this map enables you to continue to see the output of your efforts from anywhere in the world! The information shared in this map is obtained during our daily transplantation and monitoring dives. By using this map, you can see evolution of any restoration site, or any point within a restoration site over time. You will see growth and change just as we do, along with the times where we need to adapt and evolve based on what the reef and Mother Nature is telling us. Visit the map here: https://lnkd.in/gSgJn6ED .. we hope you enjoy this virtual dive! The health of the Baltic Sea is essential to us. Unfortunately, it faces multiple challenges, including eutrophication, overfishing, microplastics and chemical pollution, compounded by the stress of the summer tourism season. The summer season brings up to 20 times more tourists to the Baltic Sea coastal areas compared to the winter. This influx results in the production of more wastewater than the local treatment plants can manage, leading to unpleasant odours and an excessive amount of nutrients in the sea. As a part of the international NURSECOAST-II project, SEI Tallinn is developing solutions to keep the Baltic Sea clean during the summer tourist influx. How? Watch the video below and learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eMZgmUBW
Do you want to spend the summer at the Baltic Sea beaches without unpleasant surprises? 🏖 You are not alone! The NURSECOAST-II project wants to help you out! In the summertime, the coastal areas of the #BalticSea host up to 20x more people than in the wintertime.☀ However, wastewater treatment systems are often designed with the winter population in mind. This means that #wastewatersystems cannot properly treat the summertime wastewater, causing unpleasant smells in the tourist areas, and too many nutrients in the sea. The international project NURSECOAST-II tests six pilot solutions to handle the wastewater more efficiently and to reduce the nutrient inputs to the sea. These methods are designed to level the gap between the tourism high and low seasons and to improve the health of the Baltic Sea. 💦 🎬PS! The video is available in all Baltic Sea region languages: https://lnkd.in/guizZ9nh 🖥 Learn more about the project from the video and on our website: https://lnkd.in/eMZgmUBW #NURSECOAST_II #wastewatertreatment #sustainability #balticsearegion #wastewater #Interreg #bsr #visualstorytelling #animation
